Re: Bungie - Destiny

I'm leaving in a few hours for the midnight launch (my first since Halo 3). Anyone one else picking up their copy tonight?

If by "pick up" you mean pick up my controller and make sure I can download it to my PS4, then yeah.

It's already on my PS3, just waiting to be unlocked.

I am. I can't recall the last midnight launch I did. I want to say Halo: Reach. I did the Halo 3 midnight launch as well... at Circuit City.

If you're doing the PS3->PS4 upgrade, sounds like it won't be available till Wednesday for some reason.

Heading to Best Buy to pickup my pre-orders for myself and some close friends. I'm hoping to get the t-shirt as well.

I have a feeling that people who expect this game to be stable within the first 24 hours (if not longer) are going to be disappointed and frustrated.

Probably so. However, I want to go ahead and get the purchase of the copies out of the way. Besides, Bungie might be prepared to surprise us all.

Maybe, maybe not. I'm just looking to get it installed and create my character tonight.

Re: Bungie - Destiny

Bout 30 people out here. Not bad for a new franchise. Got the t-shirt. Pretty lame design but...free.

*edit - waiting on the install now so... there ended up being about 60 people by the time I checked out. Also got a poster and a rubber bracelet to go with the shirt. Anecdotal PS4/X1 numbers? I was tenth in line. One guy went whole hog on X1 with the system, games, extra controller, and a headset. One got a PS4. The rest were games only at 6 PS4/2 X1. There were a dozen PS4's behind the counter for pre-orders to 3 X1s that I could see. Other ratios? M/F probably 55/5. Cute females out of the whole group. 2/5. Not bad. Mouth breathers to normal people?

That's why I'll be sitting pretty waiting for my Destiny bundle to arrive in a couple of days.

Re: Bungie - Destiny

I was kicked out 15 minutes in "connection to server lost," had to replay a section I had already cleared when I jumped back in.

Opening cinematic... The score is equally fantastic. The game is gorgeous.

Re: Bungie - Destiny

I got there about 5 mins after the store opened. No more shirts . She said they didn't many in (but I guess enough for all of the employees to wear ). She also said I was the only Ghost Edition order, so I guess that's something . The Ghost is pretty sweet. Seems pretty durable too and has some weight to it. Doesn't run on batteries either, charges via USB, just like the DS4. Now I'm just waiting on updates...

Re: Bungie - Destiny

Well there doesn't seem to be a way to get the PS4 version right now, so I'll have to do my intro stuff like character creation on my PS3, oh well.

Am I on ignore or something? Bungie said the PS4 version wouldn't be accessible for the PS3->PS4 upgrade until Wednesday at 6 PST at the earliest.

The way I read the answer from Bungie is that we'll have it at the latest on Wednesday at 6. So I was of course hoping it happened much much sooner

In the end, it's just the beta stuff again anyway. I've already been through that first part 3 times in the beta, and some parts of it 6 times if you include the Alpha, which was slightly different.

They did seem to up the enemy count on the story missions. And the PS3 visuals leave a lot to be desired. Since I'm used to the PS4 version, I can really see the limitations. It's not horrible, but I can't see myself playing too much until I get my upgrade.

Re: Bungie - Destiny

Played long enough this morning to create a Warlock and grab a rifle in the opening. It's cool to see that they changed some mission stuff from the Alpha already.

Re: Bungie - Destiny

Bought the 360 digital version and upgraded to XB1 for free. Downloaded and played for a couple of hours with no issues. Impressive!

I'm so jealous! I'm picking up my copy after work and won't be able to play until the kiddos are asleep.

Re: Bungie - Destiny

Seeing the countdown timer on my PS4 last night from the pre-order was frustrating. Can't wait to start my Hunter up tonight after work.
