Forza had a free trial this weekend, and that game is about 40GB isn't it? I actually didn't end up giving that one a shot because I was busy... but I did download the NHL 15 "full game" to play for 6 hours, and enjoyed it even though I've decided to pass on buying it.

:shrug: Not for me. I only got 30 minutes into the Beta then got busy with other things. I'm sure there are many others who never got a chance to play the beta at all.

I'm just saying a free weekend (on a long weekend maybe?) would probably get a lot more people hooked after the initial rush of sales begins to dwindle.

Has there been any writeups/reviews of play time with the other sub-classes at level 15 that were not avail during beta? Sunsinger, Bladedancer, etc. The Destiny wiki has the powers listed but wondering if any gaming journalists have had a chance to play those classes yet.

Gear can apparently boost you past level 20, which is kind of neat.

and those same people are going to find a way to miss out on the "free weekend" because of other commitments

sorry but I disagree, this game has found its audience and word of mouth will be strong for the foreseeable future

a "free weekend" is not needed

ps. I say this as someone who wasn't sold on the game before he played the Alpha/Beta :p

Bah, when you're in Times Square you're not looking at that screen since you are too disctracted by aggressive Disney characters in third rate, dirty, smelly costumes and half-naked ladies in g-strings advertising the local strip club. ;)

Too bad they didn't allow you to store your character across XB1-PS4 like they did cross-generation. If they did, I would probably have bought this for both PS4 and XB1. Guess I'll just stick to PS4 since I have more friends interested in the game that side.

They will have a free weekend, why not?, but not that soon.

Consoles are basically just following the PC model. And Steam is the main actor there. So yeah, most of the big games will start having free weekends. Too lazy to check for PC data, but my guess is that they usually happen after six months of release, for games like Call of Duty.

Do we already have "Early Access" games in consoles?

To reiterate : Has anyone picked it up from Best Buy yet today? I'd hate to drive 5 miles at lunch and then be turned away empty-handed because it's a few hours prior to the release date.

I ordered from Best Buy online, store pickup. Haven't received any email.

I don't think you will able to pick it up today, Monday September 8th. Most of the time the boxes with the games have labels saying that they can't sell the game before some date, in this case 9/9/14.

You can call the store, of course.

The email I got from Best Buy yesterday says to pick it up Tuesday. The website says it's available now.

what is really stupid is this game should be made available both physical and digital whenever anyone can get the finished product if it is available

it isn't like we can do anything with it until the servers go live

I somewhat understand why they do it
not to give any one retailer a competitive advantage if they get the product earlier
but as a consumer retail's supply chain isn't my problem

Called local Best Buy, they said they can't release it until midnight. Texts were sent out in error.

PS3 version is pre-loaded. Hopefully start a PS4 download and put in standby tomorrow morning.

And hopefully will be good to go after work...assuming PSN doesn't shit the bed or get DDoS'd.

That sucks. If I do get it, I think I'll just buy it directly on the PS4. I don't really need another copy on my PS3.

I won't even have my LE copy from Amazon till Thursday and give how long it will take to download (with day 1 patch) I probably won't be become legend until Friday
