Yeah, you needed to choose, since technically it's not a bounty until you do. Had you chosen, you would have gotten it today.

Those are the archived quests that let you play a lot of the early missions all over again. If you're already level 34, I would hold off on doing them until next week (since they give you XP and the level 40 cap increase doesn't go live until TTK).

Like I mentioned in an earlier post, I went from level 32 to 33 just by running around the tower talking to people as per one of the "quests". Then all I had to do was play that first mission. It literally took me less than 2 hours to bring all 3 of my characters from level 32 to level 34.

Granted I don't have any cool new HoW gear or weapons with any of my characters, but honestly they're no better than Fatebringer (or anything else from year 1) since everything got capped at 170 with this new light system. Which, btw, I'm actually liking a lot better. You can level up the traditional way just by earning XP. Your light level is based on all your equipped items and is a whole different system altogether (and seems to primarily affect just the damage you deal/take). I really like all the changes they made. The ghost isn't much of an improvement though

I don't think the passing of the raid saves has been happening lately, however I'm sure you could find a group to run a raid.

I'm glad I chose one of the 3 on each of my characters before the patch for this reason .... though it isn't like I need any of the weapons or additional exotic shards

so I woke up this morning to a progress of 5.8GB complete with 25 hours still remaining .... this is having been running the patch download since 6:30 pm yesterday

You can test the following by visiting the gunsmith in the tower, and I've updated this to include the challenge for each:

Hakke Pulse Rifle...10 precision kills
Omolon Void Fusion...Rifle 10 crucible kills
Hakke Solar Sniper...10 double kills
Omolon Arc Sniper...10 crucible kills
Suros Void Rocket Launcher...10 yellow bar enemy kills

If you have the NF buff you should be able to get to gunsmith rank 1 by completing the challenge for each one.

What exactly does ranking up the Gunsmith do?

Is it just another thing where you get a special package for each rank (e.g. the Cryptarch)?

Once you hit a certain rank (I believe 3), you can order certain weapons from him.

Ugh. I've now played on 6 of these new maps. And I don't like any of them. Still haven't played on the new Mercury map or the one on the Dreadnaught.

It's like they redesigned every map to encourage camping. Way too many nooks and crannies, leaving virtually no sight lines.

Just finished my 5th gun from Banshee. Rank 1 with him now.

I don't care for camping, but seemed like I always got taken out by sight lines. So lose/win?

BTW, I don't understand this "reforging" your gun thing. Should I do it or not? Benefits? Drawbacks? I can't seem to find any info on this.

Reforging simply means you're getting the same gun, but with different perks. I'll use Rocket Launchers for example. You get one with Tracking, but you want one with proximity instead. You can reforge the gun, and possibly get the perks you want.

You might also get crap and have to reforge over and over again. It's gambling.
