Re: Bungie - Destiny
Hard Light looks cool, and sounds cool, but I have never understood why it's so coveted...it isn't all that great. It will be like The Last Word, a weapon everyone wanted, Xûr sold, then players realized that it wasn't so great (and easily outclassed by Hawkmoon, Thorn, Fatebringer).

Re: Bungie - Destiny
vault space with next update (1.1.2 in April) expanding from 20 Armor, 20 Weapons, 20 General Items
to 24 Armor, 36 Weapons, 24 General Items https://www.bungie.net/pubassets/36738/vault_bigger.jpg PS4 suspend/resume feature will not be supported till that update as well though it has pretty much been established that functionallity isn't of great importance with this game |
Re: Bungie - Destiny
Such a small upgrade to the vault, thats not even enough space to keep current gear when HoW comes out. Supporting last gen is really holding this game back.

I'm going to assume increasing the number of items a character can carry outside of the vault wasn't an option I guess my postmaster(s) won't be getting much of any relief |

It's a step in the right direction, but I don't see why the just didn't double it.
In the case of the Vault expansion, it became clear that we would be pushing very limited memory constraints on older generation hardware. We had a choice: leave the Vault as-is, or find some kind of compromise to enable it safely. We weighed the options, with player feedback in mind, and decided to move forward with the expansion by disabling the item comparison feature within the Vault on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Item comparison will continue to function within the Vault on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and in all other contexts on all platforms. https://www.bungie.net/7_Bungie-Week...News?aid=12707 |

Re: Bungie - Destiny
I'm sure Musick loved Bungie's choice of weapon to populate their increased vault space demo. ;) 36 of them no less!!

Re: Bungie - Destiny
I'm satisfied with 36 weapons.
I do think it's a bit of a copout blaming the previous gen with their excuse about how much they could fit on one screen. Ummmm, use a second screen? It's the vault, it's not like you need quick access to what's there. Have a primary page and a secondary one. |
Re: Bungie - Destiny
And here we go with the Xur Report, brought to you by Strange Coins. They're warm, they vibrate, they're Xur's favorite currency, and you probably have a shitload of them.
This week, Xur has stuff he's offered before (duh). It's Week 29, it's hard to come up with witty comments about his items when they're repetitive. But I did buy something, as one of his items has an amazing roll. Xur is located in central tower, next to the Crucible Quartermaster. On with the deals: http://oi58.tinypic.com/2ic7b0p.jpg For the Titan, it's the Ruin Wings gauntlets. Terrible roll of 98. The perk of more heavy ammo dropping and more per drop is nice, but the heavy ammo bug and Xur's recent offerings of heavy synth have negated these quite a bit. They do look awesome. For the Hunter, it's Achlyophage Symbiote helmet. Awful roll of 94. Still the best Hunter helmet for Gunslingers with the extra Golden Gun shot. For the Warlock, it's the Obsidian Mind Helmet. Looks awesome. Awesome perk of refilling your super with kills from your super. Absolutely amazing roll of 71 Intellect and 66 Strength. It absolutely kills the one he sold last time, and is even better than the one I got the first week from an engram. Helmets usually max out around 130, but this one gets 137 total. Safe to say, I bought one. If you don't have one, buy it for sure. But this one is worthy of the upgrade. Heavy Ammo is available again this week. You know what to do. Telemetries this week: Pulse, Hand Cannon and Fusion. The engram is for gauntlets. The weapon this week is the MIDA Multi-Tool. Like to run fast? Wanna do the lamps on crota solo? This is the weapon you want to carry. It gives you a huge speed boost, and it's a decent scout as well. If you don't have one, pick it up. Upgrades: For the Hunter, it's the Achlyophage Symbiote Helmet and Crest Of Alpha Lupi Chest. The helmet is 10 points better than one he's selling, but still low. The Lupi chest is right at the max value of 170. For the Titan, it's The Armamentarium chest and No Backup Plans gauntlets. The Armamentarium is a great 156. No Backup Plans is a shitty roll of 100 for a shitty item. For the Warlock, it's the Skull Of Dire Ahamkara and Apothoesis Veil helmets. The skull is a low roll of 99, while the Veil is a high 125. Weapons: Bad Juju The Last Word Thorn Invective Pocket Infinity Thunderlord Funny note: Xur has never sold 5 of these weapons. Obviously 4 of them are bounty guns. Thunderlord remains the only item Xur has never sold (that he could sell). |
Re: Bungie - Destiny
Not sure how much sense it makes to replace an exotic for a slightly higher roll with a new level cap right around the corner...my assumption being that the new level cap upgrade will reroll it anyway or Xur will sell a new version. It's a natural side effect of level cap increases and is why I despise them.
Haven't even done a raid this week. :( |

Haven't even done a raid this week. :( So having the best possible rolls for gear right now isn't a bad idea. It's not like I'm spending anything I don't have bunches of to do it (Hadronic Esssence, Relic Iron, even the Exotic Shard would just come from the one I break down, and I have 16 of those too). About all I'm low on is glimmer, and I need that anyway to finish off some other gear I have. |
Re: Bungie - Destiny
Same here. Wasn't a criticism, just an observation. :)
But my confidence in them "learning from their mistakes" is near zero. |

But my confidence in them "learning from their mistakes" is near zero. Let's be honest, if they do address the upgrade issues you'll probably still complain that it's too little loo late. Bungie could send Kate Upton to your place to sex you and you'd probably complain that she was't dressed up as a Warframe. ;) |
Re: Bungie - Destiny
I might actually jump in to see Xur this week and pick up the MIDA Multi-Tool which I don't have. Done three NF's in a total of 4-5 weeks and still have over 120 coins.
Good to see the bump in vault space but still not enough for items...the Armor Section to me is just a big waste. I'll just see how they handle the upgrade & level cap. After the last disaster of "upgrading & level up" I'm not taking any side until I see it what it is. For now it's speculation and assuming and hoping.... |

I don't know why. People complained about the lack of vault space, and they are addressing it. People complained about the lack of matchmaking for weeklies, and they added it. There are other examples as well.

Bungie could send Kate Upton to your place to sex you and you'd probably complain that she was't dressed up as a Warframe. ;) Vault space: Half assed solution with a tiny increase and weapon inventory should be shared between characters anyway. The app improved usability a bit, but not being able to access your stuff in-game is a half assed problem that no other game has. Matchmaking: In Weeklies but not in Nightfalls? Half-assed. Can I find other players in-game or do I still need an external third-party site for that? Honestly, what other game requires 2 third party sites (LFG and Public Events) and an app to properly play? Upgrade issue (as you call it): There will be a level cap increase, which is a mistake in and of itself because it negates prior content (Vault of Glass anyone?), and there's nothing in their in-game economy to make any reasonable person think the cap increase will be anything other than...half-assed. But credit where credit is due. At least now I get to keep my heavy ammo, which I would say is a bare minimum expectation for a game that was billed as "the most ambitious and epic ever". Note that nothing above has anything to do with Warframe and only holds Destiny to the barest most minimum standards you'd have for any competent AAA retail game, much less a F2P indie game. Now, about Kate Upton dressed up as a Warframe...I'll be in my bunk. |

I'm actually fine with them not allowing it for Nightfalls. I've been with some pretty awful weekly groups. I don't think I'd want to chance it running a nightfall with said groups
I'm done with this game until HoW. Hopefully they did learn from their mistakes and make the upgrade process more bearable. I've done one NF in the past 2 weeks (got shit energy of course) and no raids. I'll log in to buy stuff from Xur (hello Mida and Ruin Wings) and maybe run a Weekly if I feel my stash of coins is getting too low. But otherwise, it feels good to get off the treadmill for a bit. I do miss you douchebags though! :p |

Obviously Borderlands has the great advantage of dropping items to other people, but you still need to grab from the vault and trade with your backpack. And there's no app for that ;) |
