I think there's something unintentionally funny in the fact that I had to break out a non-official third-party Flash-enabled browser to watch that clip on my iPad.
Yeah, I'm really not a Jimqusion guy at all; I usually find him annoying and pointlessly profane. But here he really does hit the nail on the head, and in a well-reasoned and pretty eloquent way to boot. I wonder if it really was that difficult a decision for Sony to make.

This week for free: Saints Row 3 and Deus X along with 13 other games on both PS3 and Vita

Well last night I sent a message to a majority of my online friends saying I'm getting the PS4 and will keep playing my 360. Got two responses back right away and both were doing what I am...PS4 and keep the 360. I'll do the pre-order tonight and now just got to figure out which game. I'll hold off on other games till Best Buy does something for Game Club members which is bound to happen.

I don't think anything will happen to the 360 right away especially since they're releasing a new look that resembles the XO. And they've made it clear the 360 will continue to be supported for awhile. It's a good thing but why not just make a console for everyone and make it easier to switch/ Not going there anymore for awhile.

As to the games I see both XO and PS4 having a solid launch but my focus is on the PS4 ones now. I spent about 2hrs last night checking footage and trailers of several. Knack looked more and more fun and not just for kids. I saw more on Killzone and the opening shots of the city were a stunner. Seems more than just a shooter this time and has some cool gadgets like a Bubble Shield and something called an "OWL" that does neat things. First time I've seen anything of Infamous but Second Son looked like it could be something different and fun as well. Later on The Order really has my interest.

Yes. I use it mostly for my Vita. I havent bought any games for it. I just download and play whatever is free.

You can download more (good) free shit on PSN+ than you'd ever have time to play even if you didn't buy ANY other games. It's a great service and I'm constantly amazed at all the stuff they just give away (for the price of a membership, of course).

I went back through this thread but couldn't find the answers to these questions...

1) I have a Playstation Plus account currently. Will I need a second for the PS4, or is the $49.99 I pay yearly carry over and work for both the PS3 and the PS4?

2) Is there a release date that's official? Amazon says December 31, but other places are saying early or late November. I'm not sure if I were to pre-order from Best Buy this week or the next, if I'd be getting a launch day console, or a "second wave" of consoles, shipped several weeks later.

3) Regardless of whether you pre-order at Amazon or Best Buy, do you have to put down a down payment?

3 - Amazon, no - Bestbuy does do an authorization hold online, I think others posted they had to put down some money in-store.

2. "In time for the Holidays" is the best official release date information.

3. Neither will charge until delivery, but BB will authorize/hold the purchase price until deliver. Amazon's launch day units are sold out. I don't know about other retailers.

FWIW....I did the pre-order on the PS4 w/ Killzone and PS+ bundle. I've been told it will be closer to launch due to being a bundle and not just a standard edition.

and no...payment on the pre-order is made when item is actually shipped and no down payment.

That looks like a good system for Nintendo to release if they want to have a next-gen system to compete with PS4 and One.

One interesting thing that’s finally, finally coming is the near mythical cross game chat. Gara admits, “I suppose wasn’t delivered upon for PS3″, the explanation apparently because, “it became technology that would be difficult to place on the architecture we had in place”. Amazon's system must require a date. They just default to Dec 31 anytime they don't know the date. If anything ever actually launches on Dec 31, they ought to throw a massive "Default Date Party" and give a discount.

Amazon shouldn't charge you anything until the console is getting ready to ship.

There is no way the PS4 isn't out before CoD/Battlefield...or at least no way Sony has it planned that way.
