The tier with the alpha access is going fast, much faster than the corresponding tier with the physical "White Citizen" card...not even sure what that is, sounds like something the KKK would hand out.

From:

How does Citizenship factor into the game?
Even though there are other alien races, we’re beginning with the human side of it. This future has evolved into a futuristic version of the Roman Empire. We thought it would be very interesting to have Citizenship be something that you don’t automatically receive. It’s something you have to earn through civic duty or military service. It’s a way to create a class system, which creates the potential for conflict among the various groups and players.

What are the “Citizen Cards”?
Citizen Cards are physical props to prove that you have supported Star Citizen and will be one of the first pilots in space when the testing process starts. They will be wallet sized cards that you can carry with you anywhere you go. Citizen cards will also appear in the game itself, showing your character’s social standing, credit account and so on. We’re hoping to make them available to backers by Christmas 2012, so you can gift the game to friends and have something to show for it!
Other reward tiers have other color cards. The ranking of colors from lowest to highest appears to be:

White
Green
Bronze
Silver
Gold
Platinum
Black
Titanium

So they colors of the cards are not related to skin tone, but social status.

I might switch over to Alpha....having a physical card is not that great.

Unless having that card in the game gives special perks, which it is not clear about.

This is something I'd definitely love to play.

It would be awesome if they could later remake the first four WC games with that engine.

A few had already bought it on the community-funding site:
http://www.robertsspaceindustries.com/star-citizen/

I don't know if the Kickstarter pledges and tiers are factored in on that site, but there's at least 3 people who pledged that amount.

They are separate, but will be combined.

Re: Star Citizen: a Space Sim on kickstarter by Chris Roberts

The Kickstarter has reached nearly $600,000. Combined with the over $1.4 million on the crowdfunding site, the game has reached its funding goal of $2 million and thus should get made (assuming the other $10 million in venture capital has been secured).

Combined crowdfunding is over 3.6 million about 5 days left. Every 100k down has added a new star system or ship class

Is now over 5 million with about 15 hours to go. Every 100k unlocks another star system. At 5.5 million a super destroyer becomes playable.

Short video of AI combat attacking/defending Bengal class cruiser

http://vimeo.com/m/53745615

A short video of the AI of Star Citizen attacking and defending the Bengal Class Carrier. It demonstrates intelligent collision avoidance - a dense asteroid field, other space ships, including a large capital ship plus offensive and defensive roles.

NOTE: This is very early pre-pre Alpha. There was a bug with laser bolt speed in this build and they were incorrectly capped at a very low speed. That is not how they will behave in the game. But we thought the video was awesome enough to show you anyway!

Apparently also at 6.0 million the game launches with 100 explorable star systems, as well as the first 'Mission' pack for Squadron 42 for free to backers.

Re: Star Citizen: a Space Sim on kickstarter by Chris Roberts

RSI is still taking pledges for a extra day or two because the amount of downtime that website has had, there was a poll and the decision was to keep it open

They are now up to 6.5 million.
