Can you preload the patch if you are getting a physical copy?

I'm actually glad I got this for the PS4 tonight because the PC version is getting hammered with complaints regarding framerate and freezing problems.

Was up, so went to the midnight release to pick this up and put a little time into it. Man, do I ever suck at controlling the Batmobile. My feelings may change, but I don't see myself using that for traversal when the grappling hook is so satisfying to me.

The day one patch took about 20 mins for me to download. Just FYI.

I think the Batmobile kind of sucks, too. It seems like everything just flies by.

So far the game is okay. Nothing Earth shattering yet. I'd say it's a 6 out of 10 so far. The same old Batman game.

Played for a bit on PC tonight. With an i5-2500K overclocked to 4 GHz and a GTX 770, the game struggles a bit. No major issues as far as freezing or crashes though.

No issues with the Batmobile for me, I actually think it controls really well compared to other games like GTA. Kind of neat that they throw you right in to it too.

That's not really a good reason to prefer the console version. I'm sure it will be patched soon. Releasing a buggy game and patching it later has become a common occurrence.

I don't think it sucks, but more that the Batmobile is a little unwieldy. I do love that in battle mode the thing is essentially the thundertank from Thundercats.

I'm still super early on, but I will say that I was struck by a serious samey vibe when I first started playing the game. And while Rocksteady hasn't broken the mold yet, I do feel like the game opens up a bit once you get rolling. The game introduces some new moves (namely the multi-target takedown) that I think make the combat even easier (not as easy as having the electric gauntlets though), so some players may want to play this on hard. I'm still playing on normal, because I see myself playing through this again on hard, but that is something for fans of the franchise to think about. That said, the difficulty could ramp up, as I'm still less than 3 hours into this joint.

One thing I really don't like at the moment is how enemy thugs are highlighted now when you have them targeted. I would rather see the enemy, rather than a glowing blue shape.

Someone has apparently already beaten the game 100%. There's a video on youtube which claims to be the true ending you get for 100% completion.

Well given that I'm intertested in playing today and will probably have it finished within 24 hours I'm still glad I picked up the PS4 version. I'll pick up the GOTY PC version eventually. I have all of the Arkham games on PC and PS 3/4.

Seems like an excellent reason to me. Sure it may be patched soon, though didn't they say they weren't going to bother fixing the shit that was wrong with Origins? But I'm sure he wants to play the game now, so why deal with freezes and other crap?

Well, looks like my "release day delivery" from Best Buy Canada is now actually "day after release day delivery"

Super lame.

Even though I haven't ran in to major issues yet myself on PC, I've definitely been thinking if I should have got it on XBox. That said, I'd have to pay a lot more for the game.

Apples and oranges

Rocksteady wasn't involved in developing Origins. Origins was done solely by WB. Rocksteady is generally a better developer than WB.

Wasn't Origins eventually fixed anyway? I thought it was, but I really haven't paid much attention to it.

The PC port is supposedly done by the same group that ported Origins though. Rocksteady apparently didn't make the PC version themselves. That said, I don't recall any major issues playing Origins on PC either.

If you are ordering the LE for the statue, don't bother. It's just some cheap plastic and it has a button to light up the city under Batman. The detail is kinda cool, but it feels pretty cheap. The rest of the stuff it comes with though (steelbook, artbook, comic book) are pretty cool though. Wal Mart honored my preorder price for $62.76, so I'm happy with it for that. But I couldn't recommend it for $100 though.

Yes, there were reports last week that the WM Montreal logo appeared in the game ... I wouldn't be surprised if that is why the PC port turned out so bad. From the negative reviews on Steam god help anyone that has an AMD card(s).

I'm not saying they weren't issues or needed proof of them, I'm just saying I didn't experience them when I played it myself a little while after release (as far as things never being fixed).

They'll fix them eventually. In the meantime I'm happy finally having something new to play on my PS4.

I actually think the statue looks better in person than it did in the pictures. I do agree that it feels a bit on the cheap side though with the plastic its made of. Arkham Origins has the coolest overall statue if you ask me. I really like the artbook with the limited edition set for this game and the comic is a nice inclusion. The steelbook is nice too, but I'm not sure if I'll put the game in it.

Haven't played the game yet at all but think I'll pop it in tonight for a few hours.

Yeah, but you get your Fourth of July holiday three days early. It all evens out!
