Can't you have the Kinect hooked up and just turn off the feature?

I looked through the menus and didn't see an option to disable that feature. I could have missed it, though. Just got the game the other day and have been a little overwhelmed by all the options so far. First real basketball game I've had since NBA 2K1 on the Dreamcast.

I demanded a trade in My Player trying to go to the Lakers, and instead got traded for Dwyane Wade and am now on the Heat with Lebron. God damn it.

Went through the All-Star DLC tonight. Loved everything except the Slam Dunk challenge. Whoever designed that mini-game button press bullshit should be drug into the street and shot. But all in all worth the 200 points I paid for it.

In my career, I'm in my 8th year. I started out getting drafted by Detroit. Then I asked to be traded and was dealt to Denver. I asked to be traded again and they dealt me to Orlando.

I finished the season with the Magic, and was traded without asking to the Knicks. I asked for a trade again and got shipped to the Lakers. The Lakers then traded me to the Bobcats. I asked to be traded again and got sent to Oklahoma City.

I finished the season with the Thunder and again asked for a trade. This time it was New Orleans. I played the whole season and won the title. After that, I asked to be traded and got sent to Dallas. I asked for a trade and was sent to Sacramento. I finished out that season and got dealt at the beginning of the next season to Houston. I won another title with them.

After Houston, I signed as a free agent with Minnesota because they offered the most. They benched me, so I asked for a trade and was sent to Washington. I won another title with the Wizards.

The Wizards traded me the next year to Cleveland, and I asked to be traded and got sent to Toronto.

My goal is to play for every team eventually. My endorsements are comedy gold. You have four different magazines saying I will lead the team to a title. I have a billboard from the Kings asking me to sign with them. I have the welcome billboard in a Pistons uniform. The Magic gave me one that talks about defending the home court. The Hornets have one for my MVP season.

The Thunder have a sign that says "you're welcome" to fans. The Lakers have one saying I am the newest star or something. Dallas is asking to come fly with me. I'm on the cover of NBA 2k14 in a Rockets uniform.

It's just great.

Toronto traded me to Detroit, so I'm back where I started.

Are you requesting all these trades or did they just decide to trade you?

Mostly I request them. But there's been a few times I've been dealt suddenly.

Has 2K what would happen to our careers once they pull the plug? I am guessing they're just going to be gone but are they going to let us switch it to offline mode?

Mine is already on offline mode.

I wasn't paying attention when I started as I wasn't even aware there was an offline mode. I found out when I tried to make a second career and it told me I had used up all my online slots. Hopefully there is a way to convert it once the game is shut down in November.

I had accidentally set it to offline mode and couldn't figure out how to get it back to where it was before.

So after getting traded to the Heat for Dwayne Wade and Mario Chalmers, I demanded another trade and got sent right back to the Nets for Deron Williams and Joe Johnson. Wonder if a team has ever traded away a guy only to get him right back 5 games later.

I haven't started the My Player portion of this year's version of the game...has it improved at all from the last couple iterations? I found them extremely frustrating.

Vastly improved. I remember when I played a few years back it was really hard to improve your player, and the endorsements weren't as cool.

At least you got traded for good players. I kept getting shipped out for scrubs. Although I did get traded for a 34 year old LeBron once

I last played 2K11 and didn't have issues with MyPlayer, although its improved now. Although the VC system is tough if you're only earning them in game. Of course if you use the smartphone and facebook apps, its pretty easy to earn a ton of points.

My SG is maxed out and I won MVP my rookie year, so i've been rated 99 for awhile.

That facebook app is absolute garbage. It hasn't worked for me in about a week. It no longer loads my account and it keeps giving me server communication errors every few minutes so none of my progress is saved.

I've had that happen, but only for a day or so.

Yeah, I had played for a few weeks without any issues besides the occasional communication errors. They apparently did an update one day and it just completely stopped working. I've had it load my account maybe 3 times since then but I get the server communication error within a few minutes and it won't load anymore.

The Facebook app was pretty crappy. I never got it to sync with my account correctly.

It looks like 2K doesn't want me to farm VC anymore... The facebook app hasn't worked for a month and the mobile app has been broken for a week. They completely screwed up the questions in the mobile app. I keep getting blank questions that freeze after the timer hits 0 and it won't allow you to select an answer. When a question does actually show up, the answer choices will consist of players who aren't even on my team...
