Re: Halo 4
Two copies for $100 is hardly two for the price of one.

... and who's to stop me from selling my digital download of the game? I would be shocked if Microsoft or Sony ever go this route. |

I don't know if you could put a price on the last two, but you do get your $99 worth in terms of the in-game content alone.

Hence, why I said instead of the DLC.
... and is it really that much of a chore to put the disc in? ;) However, Microsoft does need to go the digital download route for new releases. If I could have a game downloaded and installed on my 360 right at launch rather than waiting for Amazon to ship it to me, I'd purchase most of my games that way. |
Re: Halo 4
Fuck that I want my physical copy! U know with DVD and booklet [well not no more :(, gotta save the trees]. :D
and yes other companies need to go the same route as Halo 4 & MW3 Limited Editions. |
Re: Halo 4
Halo 4: Spartan Ops DLC is "Longer Than ODST"
Apparently there's no way that this game is going to be shorter than its predecessors. 343 Industries' boss Frank O'Connor has responded to fan concerns over the length of Halo 4. After yesterday's achievement list leak pointed to the game containing just eight missions, O'Connor explained on NeoGaf that this didn't reflect how long each would be. Posting as 'Stinkles', he wrote that the "Number of missions has no bearing on the length of the campaign. It's a Halo sized campaign. PLUS [Spartan Ops] etc." His words were then added to by 343 Industries' designer David Ellis (as lybertyboy) who claimed that "[Spartan Ops] season alone is longer than [Halo 3: ODST]. "Spartan Ops and Campaign are completely separate teams. As Frank mentioned earlier, the main campaign is substantial and will compare favorably with previous entries in the series." Spartan Ops is a new story-driven game mode set to feature in Halo 4 and will replace the Firefight mode that appeared in Halo 3: ODST. Gamers can play it on their own or co-operatively with up to three other players, and the first Season of Spartan Ops plans to deliver five new objective-based missions and cinematics each week over a 10-week period. It's this content taken in isolation that Ellis has claimed will consist of more content than Halo 3: ODST. So it seems if you were concerned after yesterday's news then there's no need to panic. Halo 4 launches on Xbox 360 on November 6. http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/08/...nger-than-odst |
Re: Halo 4
So is Spartan Ops included with the game? Separate DLC? Included with the LE version of the game?

Re: Halo 4
Okay, thanks. Still don't know if I should get the LE for $85 or just the vanilla version for $45. I pre-ordered both at New Egg last week and don't have to decide for a while, but it's going to be a tough call. Which versions are floks here getting? Do you think the LE is worth the extra $40?

Re: Halo 4
LE all the way!!!!!
Well would have got bought the DLC separately anyway [if the LE didn't exist] since My nephew and I will be playing online. So basically paying for it now, by buying the LE version makes it simple to have and other goodies it come with. so GET IT!!!! :D |
Re: Halo 4
I opted for the LE. I don't get much time for online play much these days so I figured I was going to go all out and spring for the LE of the only real multiplayer game I plan on getting this fall.

DLC that u get by just buying the game.
Spartan Ops is Halo 4's Cooperative Mode replacing Firefight mode from Halo: Reach and Halo 3: ODST. It will support up to 4 players and tie into the SPARTAN-IV Program and the Campaign of Halo 4. Spartan Ops mainly revolves around Majestic Squad who will interact with the Chief during the campaign. Covenant Stragglers and Prometheans are the confirmed Enemies in Spartan Ops. 343 Industries has confirmed that it will not be a paid DLC and be included free in the game. Eventually John-117 will meet up with the UNSC Infinity and this will somehow tie into the rest of the story. Seasons will be made up of Chapters containing five missions. Chapters will be released in weekly, free DLC's. |
Re: Halo 4
LE all the way. And I've read some into the Spartan Opps which could be real interesting, fun and plenty of gametime.

Re: Halo 4
So will Spartan Ops launch on day one or will they give us at least a week to play through the campaign first?

Whoops. Sorry for the mis-read. However, I think you might be in the minority on that one.

"Spartan Ops is a co-op mode that will be released as a series of 10 TV-style episodes following the launch of Halo 4. Each week brings a new episode and with it five missions, each between 10 and 15 minutes long" I have not found anything showing the exact time for the first release of the weekly missions. |

Easy solution for that one, just require the Halo 4 disc to input the code. The real problem would be people selling the disc after redeeming the code. I'm sure there's a solution for that as well, just a matter of someone smarter figuring that one out. ... and yes, then someone can flip the disc once they've input the code. However, your want may become a reality. The only downside is with next-generation consoles, you might have the game on your hard drive without needing the disc, but then the disc becomes worthless. ;) |
Re: Halo 4
Never played a Halo game in my life but thought the score for this one sounds pretty decent:

Re: Halo 4
You should play the original Halo. There's a remake of it as well. Where you can switch from the original look to the new revamped look. Haven't played it but it seems to be pretty good from what I've read. I really love the first game. It was fun, good action, humor. It's pretty much a big movie and it gets it right. A lot of influence from Aliens.

It's one hell of a swan song. |
Re: Halo 4
Are these games available on PC? Because I don't have an Xbox?

Re: Halo 4
Well that keeps me out of the loop after the second game. :(
Whatever happened to the rumours that you could play 360 games on Windows 8? |

Get a 360. ;) |
Re: Halo 4
Games for Windows will still be supported in Windows 8 as far as I know. There are way too many games tied to it for it to just be dropped (including recently-released ones). But yes, it will have the integration for Windows games like Solitaire etc. too. Maybe they're getting rid of GFWL for new releases after Win8 drops, but I haven't seen any confirmation of that either.
