The $1 tier is a great collection of platformers, 3/4 of which I already own. I bought it for $1 just for Swapper. I might bump to BTA depending on unlocks, or if someone can sell me on Antichamber or Monaco.

Monaco's trailer seems to be focused on co-op, which is very unlikely for me to play, so is it worth playing single?

I've heard great things about Guacamelee, Dust, and Moanco, so I sprang for this. Paid $6, even though I could have gotten everything for less than $4.50. Then I spent an hour playing Guacamelee. It's fun!

Guacamelee and Dust are my favorite PSN/XBLA games of the past couple years. They're both awesome, fun and beautiful. MUST BUY at that price for sure.

It's a good cause and all, but I'm disappointed that Popcap/EA hasn't given the PC newer versions of most of those games. Bejeweled 3 is fine, but the rest of them are dated 4:3 versions at 800x600. (Zuma's Revenge apparently has a higher-res mode but it's still 4:3.) To give you an idea of how old they are, Peggle, Bookworm Deluxe and Feeding Frenzy 2 actually list Windows 98 support in their specs.

I get that these are casual games that were designed (long ago) to run on lower-end systems, but in 2014 it's disappointing when you compare them to the HD versions the Xbox 360 and PS3 got years ago.

For Zuma's Revenge, it looks like the Xbox 360 version merely extended the background out to the edges. I guess if you feel like you need your screen filled with image it's better, but it doesn't really affect gameplay at all:
