I'm clear, it just feels like one and I bet Copernicus will be quite similar to it.
Lead designer, Ken Rolston: "it's sorta like a massively multiplayer online game without the annoying other players"

The game seems to have low production value. i don't want to say it looks cheap, that has a real negative connotation. It looks kinda like a XBLA game to be honest.

Yeah, the graphic style doesn't push boundaries by any means. I think it looks clean though. And it'll mean I can max it out on my PC. I imagine this looks like what a sequel to WoW would look like.

I downloaded and messed around with the demo last night. The game play seemed smooth, but I only played for about 5 minutes.
The graphics are a little cartoonish as opposed to Skyrim. I'll wait and see how the reviews are. Is this game supposed to be as huge as Skyrim?
I've got plenty of hours left in Skyrim for now.

I only played it for a few minutes and hate to compare it too much to Skyrim, but it just felt so inelegant compared to Skyrim, particularly the menu system.

I thought the game looked great once I got outside...cartoony yes...but still good...
I also see this getting a metacritic average in the mid 80's....how do I know? magic....

I like the cartoon style graphics. I think the models could have a higher poly count but it's refreshing after playing so many grittier games.

I don't have a link...but the Roger Ebert of game reviews...the peak of game journalism...Italian Xbox Magazine...gave it a 9 out of 10...

Played the demo today and enjoyed it quite a bit. Hopefully I can fit it in between finishing Skyrim and Mass Effect 3.

Played the demo last night, and after playing about 100 hours of Dragon Age in the last month I can safely say that this game is:
Dragon Age - party members + the ability to smash crates
I really hope some of the jerkyness of the gameplay won't be present in the final product.

Tried the demo; didn't care for it much - all I could think of was going back to Skyrim, even though I've sunk more than 80 hours into it.

I thought it the demo was okay. The character progression and combat system are interesting, but the story (Planescape: Torment Lite?) and world were a bit blah.

I read some impressions after I played myself. I pretty much agreed with one writer who wrote "it's like playing a MMORPG right at release on a shard by yourself." It looks like WoW/Fable. It's laggy. It's got that open world, which is a positive. The class system looks interesting. And it was boring to play after about 30 minutes IMO.
Invisible walls were annoying. It definitely looks about 3 or 4 years behind other games.
I'll give the reviews some reads. This looks like a maybe $20-$30 purchase for me.

Played the demo for a while and then it totally froze up on me in the final 20 minutes of free play. Yippie.
I didn't love it, but didn't hate it either. Didn't like that tight, close camera though. Made it hard to see the surroundings and sometimes screwed up the combat.
Thought it was a little mean to put an easy to pick chest in the middle of town and then make me Public Enemy #1 once I loot it.
It's the sort of game I'm apt to pick up at $20, maybe even $30 if the reviews are good. It's also the sort of game I could very well never even unwrap once I buy it (see : Age 2, Dragon).

Pretty nice article from Penny Arcade. For $45 I think I'll go ahead and order it.

Indeed, it's Reckoning's gameplay that keeps rising to the top for me, because it's just so much better and far beyond what its WRPG contemporaries have done. It's arcadey, to be sure, but when you compare it to the three popular fantasy RPGs of our time -- Skyrim, Dark Souls and Dragon Age -- Reckoning easily outclasses all of them in the gameplay department. The competition isn't even remotely close in any respect.

Kingdoms of Amalur hides seven quests behind online pass
Oh well, pre-order cancelled. They had me with the demo, but lost me with this shit. I can wait until it's $20.

BTW New Egg dropped their pre-order price to $45, with free shipping. After the very positive IGN preview, I decided to at least place an order for the time being.
