Edit: I'm getting it. If you don't want it, I'll take it back.

I scored at Target today, got there and the associate was filling the shelves. Snagged the Whirlwind/Drill Sergeant/Double Trouble triple pack, and they also had the Empire adventure set but I already had it. The singles they got though seemed to be the second wave (Hex, Dino-rang, etc...). A guy and his wife were standing there with the Empire set, and a couple of the singles and said he had found a bunch of the new singles this morning at Toys'R Us. I headed over there and grabbed Cynder they had a lot of the wave 3 new singles (Whirlwind, Drill Sergeant, Double Trouble, etc...).

So I'm caught up with the ones I want for now, unless I find a silver/gold variant somewhere.

Scored Cynder at Target. Here's everyone but VooDood (arriving tomorrow) and Boomer (might have to take you up on that offer Goldberg)

Stopped by Best Buy before work this morning and managed to get Stump Smash and Prism Break. When I got home, Cynder was waiting from Amazon. Except it wasn't Cynder (which I ordered)...it was Drill Sergeant. Which I would have taken but I've got him coming in that three-pack from Amazon as well at the end of the month. Trying to see if they will exchange it but the site is being weird about the return.

So... what is everyone doing for storage?

I keep forgetting to look at tackle boxes with adjustable compartments (the main method for Heroclix) but tend to think that might be the best solution. The "official" cases are more overpriced than the scalpers price for figures.

So has anyone found a good area/level for power levelling/earning money? I think Pirate Seas is a good one. I play until i get to the second card round and restart the level. I went from a 6 to 10 in about 30 minutes with Stealth Elf.

I picked up Stump Smash and Prism Break at Walmart a couple of days ago. We still need a fire element.

Check the NE Target (Eruptor), or Toys'R Us (Flameslinger & Eruptor) they had a bunch yesterday afternoon.

I use the Stanley Sort Master Jr. from Wal-Mart. They sell a single for $11.97 but you can get a 3 pack for $15.97 shrink wrapped together. They are in the hardware section with the tool boxes. Here are a couple shots (not my photos)...

Nice. I've been looking for one of those cases for a couple years now for all my card games. I bought one years ago(and filled it), and haven't been able to find a similar one since.

Thanks! That's exactly what I have in mind and was hoping to find. That looks to be similar to what the guys at the LCS use for Heroclix. Now I just have to remember to look for them the next time I'm in the store. :)

Picked up Chop Chop, Double Trouble, and Drill Sargent at TRU today. BB, Walmart, and Target were still bone dry.

Has anyone played the Spyro's Universe online game? It is ok but takes forever sometimes to load from one thing to the next.

Goldberg74 01-23-12 08:59 AM

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

Something labeled Adventure Pack Assortment was in the Gold Box on Amazon this morning for $18.99 shipping in 1-4 weeks.

It showed a pic of the Pirate Seas Adventure Pack but that has it's own listing. So I took the gamble and hoping they send either the Crypt or the Empire of Ice (that would be nice).

So now to play the waiting game. ;)

Michael Corvin 01-23-12 09:16 AM

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

So the kids and I leveled up a few characters this weekend:

Spyro(lvl. 10): Very powerful and fast. I'd say it's a must, to max out Spyro.

Stealth Elf (lvl. 10): Proficient in her blade attacks and a complete bad ass. My favorite.

Drobot (lvl. 10): Proficient in blade gears. Doesn't do a lot of damage and is too slow. Hovering ability seems useless.

Hex (lvl. 9): Close to being proficient in Orb ability. She moves too slow and orb attack is too slow. Not impressed.

I think I'm going to tackle Dino-rang or Terrafin next. The kids don't seem to use them too often.

We leveled out Stump Smash over the weekend. That dude is tough!

I've been leveling up quickly with the "Crawling Catacombs". All those spiders rack up a lot of points. I had one character level up three times on that level. I've also been using the Hidden Dragon Treasure piece to get extra money from all the levels.

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

I leveled up Slam Bam to lvl 10 in just a couple of hours of play. I really like his character as he moves rather quickly and can freeze most enemies and then bash them.

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

Got Flameslinger in the mail today... he's one fiesty little punk. That flame trail circle thingy is cool. Can't wait to level him up all the way.

My son reset Drobot today. He wanted to upgrade him on the other "path."

It sucks that you can't just reallocate your money to try it a different way (ala Borderlands).

Thanks for posting pics of that Stanley case. I went right out after work last night and snagged the 3 pack.

If you don't need 3, Lowes has those cases for $9.

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

I was bored/curious again today so I hit up Toys R Us, Target and K-Mart. The only store to have anything was K-Mart and I am guessing that is because our local store is a hell hole with less customers. I picked up the Empires of Ice set and they had the Crypt and Pirate sets as well. Still only saw 1 single figure pack all day.

BobO'Link 01-24-12 07:09 PM

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

Target here got at least 2 each of 8 different characters Monday. But we have one of each of what they had. Bummer... At least they're starting to show up.

Since I was already at the mall I went by BB and got the most unhelpful/rude associate/stocker/idot ever when I simply asked if they had any in stock. Of course that's about par for this store. Just one more reason to stay away. I'd rather go to K-Mart and *that's* saying a *lot* as ours mirrors the one visited by MasterofDVD. You don't go there actually looking for anything as they never have ad items in stock.

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

I just bought the Stanley Jr. cases at Wal-mart. They had them for $8 each. Both cases are packed full, with characters and adventure pieces, with the Pirate Ship not in a case. It seems to be a difficult piece to get in there.

As for characters, there were about 15 to 20 single packs, mostly Prism Break and Drobot, at the Wal-mart and three 3 packs. Nothing new though.

BobO'Link 01-27-12 05:28 PM

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

Neither of the WMs here had the Stanley storage units. I've not yet been by Lowes. BUT one of the WMs had quite a few 3 packs today. I picked up:

Wrecking Ball, Stealth Elf, Sonic Boom (we already own a Sonic Boom so it may go back if I can get WB & SE at regular price in the next couple of weeks or so)
Whirlwind, Double Trouble, Drill Sergeant

They had 3-4 of the "Wrecking Ball, Stealth Elf, Sonic Boom" set and 3-4 of the "Drobot, Flameslinger, Stump Smash" one. I got the *only* copy of "Whirlwind, Double Trouble, Drill Sergeant" on the shelf. I'm very pleased with today's finds!

My WM had the same ones today. Grabbed a couple of the Stealth Elf 3 packs for friends.

Got a Flameslinger at Best Buy last night and found the Whirlwind/Double Trouble/Drill Sergeant 3-pack this morning at Target. And ordered a Zap for regular price off Amazon last night that should show up next week.

I've got to stop

I had a 3 pack with Whirlwind and the others in hand this morning at Wal-mart but as I grabbed it a family rolled up with 2 kids looking for some figures so I handed it to them and told them to get it. I already have the 3 characters and was going to grab it for a friend but figured I would make someone else's day. The two little kids were excited as they talked about the rainbow thing that Whirlwind does.

The Darklight Crypt expansion arrived today (back-ordered from amazon a few weeks ago - of course regular price). I now have a extra level and 8 characters the kids don't yet know about! :D

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

Got an email from Walmart.com that my Empire of Ice expansion I ordered like 3 weeks ago was cancelled due to lack of inventory. I think putting in an order 3 weeks ago should give you plenty of time to get an order in but whatever. Reminded me why I never deal with Walmart.

You guys have nothing on this guy! He's got three copies of each figure released (one to play with, one to display, and one in the package). Activision must love this dude!

Best Buy has the 3DS Starter for $39.99. With Ignitor going for $25 to $35 on ebay, I will grab a starter kit @ BB, keep Ignitor and sell the other stuff.

Stopped by Target this afternoon (1604 & Blanco) and they had about a dozen singles that included Dino Rang, Drobot, Boomer, and Prism Break.

BobO'Link 02-01-12 08:20 PM

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

Both Target and WM here had the same half-dozen figures with 6 of each. Dino Rang, Drobot, Boomer, Hex, Wrecking Ball, and Zap. I thought it odd that both stores had the exact same assortment of figures. I didn't waste time with BB based on the rude employee from the last time as well as the gouging they are engaging in with the online pricing, although their online inventory tracker did show the store to have stock of some individual characters. I *did* pick up a Wrecking Ball in anticipation of getting a Stealth Elf sometime soon at MSRP and taking back that 3 pack I purchased a few days ago.
