Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

Thanks to the groupon, I ended up buying all of the series 2 figures from wave 2. It does however require ~$4.02 worth of filler. I picked up the skylanders dog tag ($3.99) and a pack of $1 stickers with each set of skylanders figures. I didn't try using the groupon with a purchase under $20 so I don't really know if the filler was required.

TRU has a cyber monday sale going on. They dropped the prices of the series 1 single figure packs to $5.99 and they are b2g1 free. The series 1 3 packs are all $14.99 including the series 1 legendary pack. The giants battle pack is $17.99. Sadly, you have to spend $49 to get free shipping.

I was checking on some "Tea Glasses" for my daughter-in-law, did a check to see if they had any online bargains for Giants, and found it's currently available for order online with "free site to store" delivery or just use the stock checker to see if any are in a store near you.

So... does everyone else have that same  moment I had? :D

I ordered one for in store pickup. Thanks!

The series 1 single packs B2G1 are in the weekly ad, so they should be valid all week in store too.

Yeah, it will be cheaper online if you buy enough crap to get free shipping. Each figure is $9.99 in store. I am not sure what their pm policy is as my local store would not pm their website when I asked about it.

My TRU had a sign that read "No Price Matching from 11/23-11/25" so maybe today will be okay? ;)

"We'll match Toysrus.com and Babiesrus.com online pricing in our stores, except for online-only prices."

The $5.99 price is a "Hot online price" based on the special offers list below it. I am guessing it will be ymmv for a price match.

Hey, those with a Kroger grocery store : Check your local store for Giants figures at half off.
There is a huge number of stores under the Kroger banner, so it might be worth checking at whatever your local store is. Mine is Smith's. I might go check in-store later tonight

I was just in a Ralph's yesterday and saw figures but no sale... is this a Monday only thing?

I picked up the Dragonfire Cannon/Chop Chop/Shroomboom set ($17.99) and Legendary Bouncer ($8.99) at TRU today. Less than $30 w/ tax.

It was a Buy One Get One 40% off Cyber Monday extended sale.

I officially have a skylanders addiction. I just paid $25 for a series 1 zap to complete my collection of original figures...

Picked up Crusher (14.99) and Sprocket (5.99) with the Groupon at TRU (Buy 1 Get 1 40% Off). Tossed in Chill (9.99) for kicks. $21 for the three of them. Not a bad haul.

I have a question for any of you who have the Golden Dragonfire Cannon. What does this actually unlock? Is it simply a differently colored battle arena like what you got with the Volcanic Vault (yes, I know it was lava instead of water but basically just a color change) or a completely new area? I'm trying to decide if we actually need one of these.

Was able to find the lightcore Jet Vac at Walmart yesterday. I was surprised since I hadn't seem him since the release of the game and didn't bother picking him up then. Needless to say he is going in the Christmas gift pile for my daughter.

I saw the iPad game in-store today at Target. The interesting thing is it comes with a S2 Double Trouble, but not the regular S2 Double Trouble, this one has no staff and no baby next to him. I guess it's an iPad-exclusive figure. Anyway, I didn't want it so I put it back. It was $49.99.

Also a nerdy guy in the store apparently used a merchandise stock tracker to locate a full box of Granite Crushers while I was there. Since I already have one I didn't grab one from his new box, but I bet I could have made a few bucks on eBay if I had.

Gamestop also has an exclusive Royal Double Trouble in the iOS pack. It's double trouble in his series 1 pose. Damn all these variants.

Edit: FYI Granite Crusher is worthless on ebay. I looked it up while checking GitD Fright Rider prices... I am not sure I should pay $35 for a variant.

Santa just scored one for <strike>me</strike> my boy.

Believe it or not, these are *still* in stock. I ordered one yesterday morning "just because" and they've been in stock since that time.

Out of curiousity, have you put yours on the base yet? If so, does it start partially leveled up with some gold? The GITD Sonic Boom starts at Level 5 with 2100 (I think) gold - like the red Drill Sergeant and blue Bash.

Got one of those Gold Flameslingers ordered tonight and it has shipped! Thanks for the heads up on them being in stock as they were not the last time I tried to grab one.

My local TRU put out a bunch of Warnado, Camo & Ignitor 3 packs today. They had 13 of them a few minutes ago. Might not be a bad idea to check out your local TRU if you're missing those 3.

Same thing here and that seemed like the only thing they had any real stock of. Can we please get one more wave before Christmas!

Ok so those of you that have this... Is it because you have young children? Or do you guys have the game for yourselves?

If it's for yourselves what about it appeals to you? I saw gameplay videos and it don't look rather challenging.

Am I missing something?

I originally bought it for my son and he loves the games. The collector in me though had to go on the hunt for all the figures.

The game itself is pretty easy, but it is still a good little adventure game. I wouldn't have bought it originally for myself but I play it here and there, helping my son and it's not a bad game.

The figures are freaking collectors crack though. I find myself looking for Skylanders anytime I'm at a store.

I bought the game for my daughter but I ended up collecting all the figures. The game is pretty easy and really isn't that special. It's basically just a beat em up game with a ton of different characters to choose from. It's kind of like Gauntlet where you walk around killing things.
