As long as I've known, TRU's price point for 3-packs and Adventure Packs have always been $24.99.

Singles are $9.99.

:(

Could have sworn that I paid 19.99 or so for both the Pirates and the Crypt packs around Christmas. My memory sucks though so you're likely right.

TRu jacked it to $25 after Christmas.

So it what around 20 before Christmas? That is what I thought.

Is Dragon's Peak a TRU exclusive or are they going to be sold everywhere?

AFAIK that is the price everywhere *but* TRU. They jacked the price on the Adventure Packs and 3 Packs up to $24.99 and the singles up to $9.99 shortly after Christmas. I believe they were the first national chain to charge more than MSRP on the figures. This is in spite of them being a "premier partner" with Activision on the game.

Not only that but there was a period of several weeks following Black Friday where *all* the figures, including the Adventure and 3 packs, were part of a B1G1 free sale with free shipping on all Skylanders with any size order. Of course by the time I found out about the sale they had nothing in stock I didn't already have - which was a couple of singles and *one* Adventure pack.

I've read that, like Darklight Crypt, it's supposed to be a TRU exclusive for a month before it gets wide release. Keep in mind I don't know that to be gospel fact - just what I've read on various blogs and reviews.

Dragon's Peak is indeed an exclusive for one month. They put out a press release about it.

This was what the shelves looked like this morning at my local Toys R Us: We picked up the Dragon's Peak Adventure Pack as well as the Legendary Trigger Happy.

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

Well, my 7 year old was on the internet this morning and found Sunburn in stock and wanted to order him at TRU. Since I saw their ad in the paper stating a 5 buck GC with the dragon's peak set, I told him I would take him up there this morning since I admired his ambition (and he had 25 bucks burning a hole in his wallet).

We went to our local TRU and got there about 15 minutes early. There was already a line there with some people sitting in chairs and umbrellas (it was quite sunny) who had obviously been there a long amount of time. We were about 20th in line and TRU handled it very well. They came out with tickets for the DP set and also for Legendary Trigger Happy. They handed out one ticket per person.

I talked to one of the workers there and he stated that they got around 25 DP packs and about 150 LTH. They of course sold out of the DP packs while we were there. No Empire Of Ice yet but I have been checking zoolerts religiously. Ah...the things we do for our kids.

My kid is extremely happy right now and I have never been complimented so much in my life. "Great looking shoes Daddy. Your sunglasses make you look cool Daddy. That song you are listening to is awesome Daddy."

One person in the line did tell me that if TRU has any legendary packs in stock that you have to ask for them and they do not keep them on the shelves. Don't know how much truth there is to that but thought someone here might like to know.

So how many variants are there? I know that Dark Spryo is in the 3DS pack but is there any way to get him separate or is he going to be released separately?

That little Skylander Tower case is cool but it only hold 8 of the figures and for 40 bucks seems like quite the rip-off. I hadn't seen it before until today. They also had some small circular carrying case for $22 which also seems over-priced.

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

^OK... it's official... you guys who live close to a TRU store suck... No... actually - congrats on scoring for your kids! That's quite some stock there dsa_shea. I've *never* seen that much stock at one time at any store!

I gave mine the Darklight Crypt Adventure Pack yesterday. You would have thought it was Christmas! :) I can't wait to see the expressions when that Stealth Elf I ordered from WM arrrives (got a shipping notice yesterday - should be here Wednesday). Both are lusting after that one in a big way.

FWIW - The K-Mart ad shows Skylanders characters on sale with a Buy 1 get one 50% off. Of course, if the one near you is like the one here don't bother. They've never had Skylanders figures in stock as best as I can tell and when something is in the ad you can bet they'll have *zero* stock. "Rain checks" are also worthless based on my experiences as they've *never* obtained stock the few times bothered with a rain check.

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

I went to Target to pick up some Vita game with the buy 2 get 1 free sale on video games and they had an Adventure of Ice pack and it was 19.99 plus tax. It sucks that TRUS jacked up the price on us. I said earlier in the thread that I would be willing to help someone out on here finding some figures but I don't know if you would want to pay price plus shipping. Anyways. I thought I would throw that out there.

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

Thanks for the offer dsa shea! I definitely need that one for my kid but your post made me check zoolert real quick and boom, there was Empire Of Ice and it was avail at Amazon. I jumped on it and ordered one. So not only thanks for the offer but thanks for putting it in my head to check it. My son's birthday is this coming Sunday so he will be quite surprised!

Now to find Zook and Lightning Rod. It never ends. ;)

Just an fyi...all the adventure packs (minus Dragon's Peak) are currently avail at Amazon though they will likely go quick.

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

If you need me to grab that Zook and/or Lightning Rod then just let me know. I will only charge you what it costs me to get them and send them.

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

Using the in stock status of figures/sets at zoolert I'm becoming somewhat encouraged that several single figures, including a few of the newer ones, have been in stock at Amazon for full days or more. Others for up to 12 hours. Even the 3 wide-release Adventure Packs have been in stock for 9-18 hours. This seems to imply that the log-jam may finally be on the way to being broken! 'Bout time! :)

Michael Corvin 03-26-12 10:05 AM

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

Zook & Lightning rod have popped up on there? I haven't used zoolerts in a while, guess I'll have to check it out again.

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

I broke my "not paying more than retail" rule and ordered Dragon's Peak from TRU for about $32. Driving over to our local TRUs is a pain where we live and I just didn't want to deal with the hunt. Got my zoolerts set up for Zook and Lightning Rod, so here's hoping.

Got my free one today - despite the fact that I had cancelled my Wal-Mart Empire of Ice order weeks before their scheduled delivery date and way before they sent the "sorry, we won't be getting these in stock" email.

I received Stealth Elf.

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

Ran by WM this afternoon to pick up some Elmer's Glue for the wife and found:

Cynder/Zook/Lightning Rod 3 pack!! WooHoo!

They had *lots* of figures. 2 or 3 different 3 packs (I got the last Cynder/Zook/Lightning Rod one) plus a half dozen different singles in varying quantities. Lots of Hex, Chop Chop, a few Double Trouble, Drill Sergeant, Stump Smash, Whirlwind, and a *single* Stealth Elf. I went ahead and purchased the Stealth Elf too "just in case". They've raised the shelf price to $8.96 for the singles. The triple packs are still $19.96.

Thanks to zoolerts and their text messaging option, my iPhone, and Amazon 1-Click coupled with Prime, I scored the Lightning Rod/Cynder/Zook pack for $19.99 and will have it Friday!!!

Nice. I guess I need to set that up instead of trying to watch the site.

It's a neat little free service. When it's in stock you got a text with a link direct to Amazon.

I missed alot of texts that happened around 1-3am. Today's was around 8am.

Walked into Target this afternoon and found/bought Ignitor, Zook, and Lightning Rod singles. Only need Dragon's Peak adventure set right now, but I'll wait the month and pick it up at WalMart, or Target for $19.99. A clerk at Walmart said they were getting in a display for the April 1st ad, but she didn't know what was going to be on it.
