The assassination missions (that Lester gives to Franklin) are the ones where you can really get some nice profits.

I'm probably very close to those. Will I know what you mean when I get there? Will it be obvious?

you can't miss them...but you need to buy shares before you finish the mission(or right after)....I would quickly switch to my other guys after the mission and spend all my money on the stocks...

So I switch into Trevor, and I find him at the top of a mountain, drunk, and wearing a flowery little sun dress. I run downhill, steal a car and drive off. Soon after I find a hitchhiker who needs a ride, and doesn't seem to be fazed by crazy dude with a beard wearing a dress. She wants to go to Vinewood Hills, but I take her to the cult instead.

We get to the cult and they take her, but then they take me as well! Bastards! I was bringing them people! They march me to a hilltop, have something of a ceremony, and then I find a gun and have to blast my way through them. So I'm wailing away and finally finish off the cult (some of them naked dudes), and clean out the cult...all in that dirty little sundress.

They're the only Franklin-specific missions marked with a green L, as far as I've seen.

Or look the list up online and put all of each character's money into the appropriate stock right before starting the mission. The returns get up into the 81% range after a few in-game days.

About 42 hrs in. I thought by now the missions would get boring / repetitive but it doesn't seem to be slowing down.

Out of curiosity what kind of funds do your characters currently have? I just finished the hotel assassination mission and invested every bit I could for my 3 guys and I only scratched the surface of 1 million total with Franklin and since I die so much playing Trevor and barely had any cash with him because of that so he's barely over 120k after selling the stocks. Michael is at roughly 800k now. I've seen clips on Youtube and other boards where people already have 30+ million at this point and I'd love to know how they managed it.

Michael has 1.5 mil. Franklin a measly 250k And Trevor 800k. I just did the assasination mission with the street hooker and fruit stock. I'm having the same problems in getting money. I just wIsh they'd let you deposit your money into the bank since you already have access to ATMs and get bank statements!

The guys with 20 mil + may have been doing the infinite money glitch .

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V

I just did a heist mission that resulted in about $400K for each of my three guys, but it felt like a long time getting to this point. I'm around 45 missions in.

The assassination missions (other than the first one, I think) can be put off until you have more money to invest. I'm saving them as long as possible.

Do you have to waste time doing the stock stuff to get 100%. That doesn't seem fun at all.

Yeah, I have zero interest in playing the stock market.

What is the deal with people calling the cops and them showing up because you tell someone that they are ugly? I have had some foot and car chases simply because I have insulted someone.

How do you insult someone?

Groucho 09-24-13 11:18 AM

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V

If you switch to unarmed while driving and "shoot" you'll flip off whoever you're looking at and start insulting them.

Same here.
I tooled around, trying to see what to buy and how. It was so unintuitive and, frankly, so boring as shit that I didn't bother and will never go back to it.

Well, I take the stock tips from whats his name(Lester) I bought some cigarette stocks after he mentioned it. Dumped about 90% of my money for one character into it just to see

I think the online version will be better. I buy stock in a company and attack a rival company causing my stocks to rise. It'll be a back and forth war between stocks you have and others online.

Gooter 09-24-13 01:09 PM

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V

Can you sell short stocks as well? Using mhg83's example, sell short rival's company, attack it, watch the rival's stock price plummet and cover your short at a profit while simultaneously watching your stock price rise.

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V

I just experienced the glitch where your fully loaded up standard car with every single upgrade available returns to the default car later on. I dumped something like 75k into every option and now it's all gone. That's a little frustrating knowing that all that money spent is gone.

Click right on the direction pad on the PS3 controller and I'm assuming the same with the 360 controller. You basically try to start a conversation while walking around but it usually results in a pissing match and they get insulted and either try to beat you or call the cops on you. I talked with/insulted some of the hot dog vendors on the pier and they chased me around for quite some time while cursing me in Spanish.

The 3 main voice actors aren't too far off from looking like their in-game counterparts:

 I switched to Trevor last night in the middle of a 3 star police chase with a dead body in the passenger seat.

Finished the storyline last night. That was by far the most fun I've had with a GTA game. All the heists were incredible, especially the final one.

Now gonna take my giant bank accounts, buy some property, complete the side missions and explore the map. There are big chunks I haven't even seen yet.
