Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V

I picked it up at midnight. Only 10 people in line. Surprised me. Guess the store did not advertise it well. Played an hour last night and enjoying it so far. The city does have more life than previous versions. Still not getting to the amazed stage, but got the day off work to play it...so will probably get there at some point. I think after the freedom of movement the character has in Just Cause 2 makes it harder for me to play GTA games where a character can have a hard time jumping a 2 foot wall. Draw distance is very good on the PS3, and graphics are top notch.

Very since Disc 1 is nothing but an installation disc.

How are the framerates on the two? The same? The games look identical for the most part (as expected), the 360 version has some minor texture pop-in issues (0:35) otherwise I didn't see much of anything looking different.

I haven't seen any issues on my PS3. My neighbor bought a copy at midnight, and he kindly let me borrow it when he went to bed. So I've been playing a bit before I leave it back with him and await my copy.

Be careful where you steal. I was driving along the coast, and saw a few motorcycles in the parking lot of a restaurant called Hookies. So I swiped one and all of a sudden I had blood coming out of my back. Turns out it was a cycle gang!

First thing I always notice in a game is the framerate. This game cries out for a next Gen system . I'd say driving frames are in the 20's and again with any busy stuff on foot. I'm playing on the 360. Oh, and anti alaiasing of course was reserved for previews of the game.

Hopefully a PC version is announced in the not to distant future.

They look about even, they both look smoother than Far Cry 3 did on console so that's acceptable.

Used the blimp for the first time. Good times. I tried to land at the top of the Vinewood (Hollywood) sign and it exploded. I will be more careful next time. The game looks great at night.

I will never have something delivered unless there was a guarantee of delivery on release day.

This is one of the reasons I cancelled my New Egg pre-order and went with Amazon. I also went to Walmart last night and picked up a second copy so that I could play it this morning and mail my other copy to my nephew in Guatemala once it arrives.

Sorry Chops.
Yeah I have had very little success using the app. I think I picked a license plate but have no idea if I saved it or not and can't log back into it to confirm.

I took the day off for this and my copy still isn't here. I tried calling Amazon but they are unwilling to connect me with the delivery driver.

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V

So what's the deal with the install on the PS3? Does the game install as you play? Or do you have to wait a certain amount of time while the disc is installing the game onto your HDD?

For the PS3, bluray version, the game needs to install 8 GB of data, and play the other half from disc. I don't think you can play while it's installing.

Yeah, it's the same as most PS3 games. Install, then play.

Depending on who they use, sometimes my shipments with amazon (usually if it's UPS) can get to me as late as 8 pm.

For a game like this, that will be easily available everywhere, I don't understand people ordering online, because you will most likely not get it first thing in the morning like you can at Target.

Go get the game from Best Buy and then return the Amazon copy.

UPS end of delivery day that that I'm shown is 3pm. For people that work that is acceptable. The day to take off is Wednesday if you are having it mailed and delivered.
