Re: Dead Space 3

finished this last night, damn it was long and challenging on normal. I was fine with Ammo and (small) health packs dropping constantly but by Ch.18 It was the first time I had to make Ammo and had to start using Medium health packs from my storage. Those you against 20-25 fuckers fights were a bitch, hate those damn Pickaxe Dudes

Also hated the weapon crafting but got used to it by the end, but I only really used one weapon through the whole game. It was the Planet Cracker one they gave, I just modified it. The save system sucks big time. Alot of small changes I had to get used to but still it was Dead Space and I love it.
I really thought
Spoiler:
I hope we can get DS4 one day on next gen, that would be awesome but probably years and years away.

Re: Dead Space 3
I've just started DS3. On Chapter 2 now. Immediately I can tell this game handles different. Not sure if I like that. Also feels like you're not as strong when you're low level. You just feel weaker overall.... hrmmmm. Crouching feels off and shooting guys w/ guns. This is wildly different already.
EDIT: Oh, what the fuck. Elle just kisses the guy all willy nilly and is over sexualized in this? WTF. Also this auto save sucks. I don't get the crafting. I just somehow fucked up my planet cutter from turning now. *groan*

Yeah. I wasn't a fan of how they did the weapon customization in DS3. A lot of people felt it was a deeper way to to it but I just found it annoying. And it is really difficult to get used to just after playing the first two games since it goes down a completely different road.

Re: Dead Space 3
They killed Visceral Games - which doesn't necessarily preclude EA from making DS4, but DS3 apparently sold below expectations, so I don't think there's a much of a rush for them to continue the franchise with a new developer.

Re: Dead Space 3
As good as 2 was, This was actually the best of the three games - it was epic.
As I've mentioned in the dead space 2 thread. the first 25 minutes or so are pretty bad, for me they were anyway (the first door after the car explosion wouldn't even open for me and I had to restart the game) but that was all forgiven once it went back to being dead space.
It's crazy how the graphics are even better than a lot of the newer console games.
The enemies in this one are relentless and you're forced to really put some thought on the upgrade system.
I definitely see why people were pissed about the "pay to play" in this one but since I played it many years after its release, I was able to use the in game credits to keep purchasing med packs, ammo, and resources throughout.
Did I mention the enemies are relentless in this one? lol, especially towards the last two chapters - that is hands down the second most tense I've ever been playing a survival horror game, worse than outlast, resident evil, evil within......the only one that beats it is Alien Isolation but it's definitely not as good as dead space. Even with being fully powered up and only having to take a coupe of shots to off them, it's still crazy intense.
I also decided to purchase the bot voice pack - I recommend it as they say some really funny stuff every time you deploy them.
Here's a little tip too: Throughout the game you'll hear a "wup-wup" sound (best I can explain it) this means to deploy your bots as there are high valuable resources laying around that they will find.
Partial Spoiler: Keep your ears open after the credits roll for a nice surprise.
