System Shock 1 and 2 would be so nice. I sort of hope for a Phantasy Star 1-4 complete HD remake package. The Sega Genesis disc for 360 is groovy but it is a little tough to play through. Others I'd be interested in include:
Gain Ground
Combatribes
Dungeons and Dragons: Tower of Doom/Shadow over Mystara
River City Ransom (yes, Scott Pilgrim is wonderful but it only made me want to play the classic even more).

Final Fantasy VII

With the same graphics engine used in the PS3 demo (you know what I'm talking about). And the revised script that was used in the PC release.

Half Life

In progress. However, it looks like Episode 3 and the last Song of Ice and Fire book will be out before the Black Mesa remake.

Final Fantasy VII is overrated. I'd rather see VI and IX updated with modern artwork/graphics.

Star Wars Battlefront. I would still love to see Diablo 1, 2 or LoD remastered for console - I really hope the rumors that Blizzard is working on a console version of D3 (or any previous) is true.

I doubt anybody remembers this game, but it was an old sci-fi/cyberpunkish point and click game that I absolutely adored for the environment. It was on the PC (floppy disc even) called B.A.T. Google it. But a modern HD reimagining of it to console with the basic elements retained (they would have to action it up a bit) would be amazing.

Suikoden 1 & 2 upgraded with HD sprites and better war battle animations.

I second Blast Corps and Eternal Darkness (and the N64 wrestling games, which will unfortunately never get remade). Also Herzog Zwei.

If DMC is indeed getting remade, that's great.

I know most Ratchet and Clank games are pretty much the same, but I wouldn't mind a collection like the Sly cooper one. I didn't like Jak and Daxter quite as much, but I'd probably pick that up too.

Also, Zone of Enders.

Posting from my phone so unable to post the link. Square Enix announced they are remaking Final Fantasy X for ps 3 and psp vita. They're remaking one of the shittiest FF games but won't remake VII?! Fuck Square enix!

Are they remaking it from the ground up, or just re-rendering it for this gen?

If it's the latter, I would expect it's because that's a lot easier to do for a PS2 game than it is for a PS1 game. FFVII would require a lot of work to bring it up to HD standards. The game just hasn't aged well, those polygons look really terrible today.

If it's the former... eh, I got nothin'.

I like to see No One Lives Forever 1 and 2 come out on either console.

It's not a remake, just a remaster which is pretty simple when going from PS2 to PS3. PS1 to PS3 on the other hand...

Not really. There are PC mods that have substantially improved the graphics with more detailed character models, better textures, HD resolutions, etc. That was done by amateur modders in their spare time. With the resources of Square, it wouldn't be extremely difficult to remake the game.

Oh yeah. Its a shame the NOLF series is so unknown. They were some of the best FPS games ever. I want NOLF 3 almost as much as I want Thief 4. Instead Monolith has been churning out F.E.A.R. games which aren't nearly as good.

Extremely difficult, no. A lot more time consuming than converting a PS2 game to HD, yes.

So it really doesn't surprise me that they're pushing out remastered PS2 games before investing into upgrading the PS1 games. The investment to profit margin ratio is a lot bigger on the PS2 front.

Yes, the investment to profit margin is better remastering PS2 games than completely remaking PS1 games, but that hasn't stopped them from completely remaking the old NES and SNES Final Fantasy games on PSP and DS. The investment to profit margin of remaking FFVII is surely a lot higher than remaking those old games for handhelds.

I have no doubt that FF7 will happen one of these days. It's a license to print money.

I would love for Beetle Adventure Racing to get remastered and released on XBLA. That game, online, would be the best thing in the history of the world.

This thread is reminding me to replay Eternal Darkness again. I already played it three times to get the special ending, but that was years ago. Such a great game...

Unfortunately they were slapped with a cease and desist order so the whole project was scrapped.

None. I don't like playing old games. But I am looking forward to the new NBA Jam game.

FF VII PC's problem for me was how terrible the static backgrounds looked on a computer monitor. Still, the game gets one things very right that most games seem to be missing these days: atmosphere.
