What are the Borderlands symbols? Have I been missing something?

He meant triple borderlands symbols on the slot machines.

But every level has hidden borderland symbols you can discover for badass points.

Re: Borderlands 2: "xbox360/ps3/pc" -2012

The slot machines in Moxxi's bar (there are a few out in the wilds too). 3 vault symbols pays out an orange item, 3 Marcus heads gives a purple I think.

For what it's worth, I pumped hundreds of thousands of dollars into those machines and never hit either of the above once. The most I got was a blue item (3 Moxxi legs for that).

Supposedly the chance to hit one of the top two jackpots is just a fraction of a percent.

Re: Borderlands 2: "xbox360/ps3/pc" -2012

By the way, I think the decision to include slot machines with loot payouts in a game like this was a fantastic idea. I just wish it paid out something worthwhile a bit more frequently. I mainly used it as a way to get rid of all my excess cash -- it felt better to lose it that way than at respawn stations.

But it usually ended up just being a cycle of playing until my inventory was full, running to a vending machine to sell all the useless junk I just won, then running back and playing again. Repeat until broke.

Yep. Wish there was a closer vending machine or a way to sell the item without even picking it up.

Instead of one of those Chest Goon's, I once fought a Goon with a slot machine on his back instead.

I've hit the triple marcus head quite a few times and the triple eridium once, but never the triple vault symbol and never the triple bells. It may help that I often play the slots with at least one or two other co-op players so our money seems to go further since the game gives both players any cash/eridium winnings.

Yep, that's exactly how it goes. Sometimes it feels like we spend more time playing the slot machines than the actual missions. Just one of the many reasons I haven't finished my first playthrough yet.

Re: Borderlands 2: "xbox360/ps3/pc" -2012

Everybody aware of the quick sell trick? I didn't know until the other night.

Mark everything you want to sell and next time you hit the vending machine(on the buy screen, not the sell screen) click the left thumbstick. Everything marked X gets sold at once. No going through and selling one by one. If you mark everything as you pick it up, it definitely makes for a quick trip at the vending machines.

On the subject of Tiny Tina; She's voiced by Ashley Burche, Anthony Burche (Head writer of BL2) sister who does the show HAWP together:

I knew I recognized that voice. I gave up on HAWP years ago.

I got 777 on the slot machine. I figured that was the "jackpot" symbol. All I got was a shitty green gun. Fuckers.

Is it possible to find Michael in the 2nd playthrough? I've looked in all the spots he's supposed to be in several times, no luck. Still towards the beginning of the story.

I am in my second playthrough, and I found Michael. He wasn't in any of the usual spots though. Just in front of a random door by some stairs.

I'm well into the 2nd playthrough. He's been there every time I've been to Sanctuary (pre the big event). All the usual places too. He hasn't given me any good weapons though. The random stuff I'm finding just by opening chests is much better.

Does he show up at EVERY place? Or just one of them at a time? Odd question, I know.

Me and a friend did the "Slaughterhouse Arena" in The Fridge last night and completed it and all the challenges, me with Maya Level 26 and he with a Assassin 29. First time we tried it was with the Gunserker at 16 and his Assassin at 21 and we got our ass handed to us in the second round. This time we had the right strategy. weapons and didn't die once. It was fun

Borderlands 2's Mechromancer, Gaige Appears in First Screenshot

We don't normally get all that excited about a single screenshot, unless it's something really exceptional, and indeed in this case we will choose to make an exception. This is a first proper look at Borderlands 2's Mechromancer, Gaige since the reveal of her final design last month.

Gaige has her own death-dealing robot, fittingly called Deathtrap, who follows her around and racks up a few kills to help out. Both Gaige and Deathtrap have their own skill trees to level up, like the rest of Borderlands 2's classes. Gearbox is apparently planning more classes in the future to be offered as DLC too.

The Mechromancer is set for release on October 16th for 800 Microsoft Points. She's also free for anyone who pre-ordered Borderlands 2. Check her out below. For more DLC, you can also snap up the Season Pass for 2400 MSP. Read our Borderlands 2 review to find out what we thought of the shoot 'n' loot sequel.

What platform are you playing on? I have never seen him on the PC version... Supposedly he's really rare on the PC.

Only one place at a time. Everytime I go to sanctuary, the first thing I do is a quick walk around to all his spots. I've put in a ridiculous amount of time in this game so I've got them all memorized. I can find him 100% of the time before the story reaches that certain point. I have all four characters to that point in playthrough 1, and the assassin to that point in playthrough 2. Believe me, he's there somewhere... in the PS3 version anyway.

Also, I know it's been said he only gives blue items, but I did receive a kick ass purple item from him once with one of my characters (playthrough 1). That's probably why I continue to look for him during every visit.

The only thing I can think of is that I only needed to turn in the mission before the "big event" happens, so maybe it was already too late? I'll try again when I start a new character.
