I am on the last boss, but I need to finish this in the morning...
I agree with moviepage in that it is not as good as the first game. FINALLY the last few dungeons got challenging in the puzzles, but it never came close to the first game. One sequence later in the game (one world) becomes a shooter and that was the low point for me.
I had some problems with the combat. Some of the later enemies, you just can not avoid getting hit at times. Nothing you do is going to get you out of some attacks. It is not that bad, because you always survive, but it seems broken to me that no matter how good you are, you are not going to escape some attacks.

Was fun for a while though.

I actually enjoyed that area of the game quite a bit, mainly because it felt like a much needed change-up in the scenery and level design. Then again, I only tried the gun/shooter weapon for a few seconds before dropping it and carrying on with my normal equipment.

I just finished and while i liked most of the game, the last boss was so weak i didn't even die once. And the ending is the worse ending i've seen since Halo 2!

MoviePage you were right about apocalyptic being easier than normal. In fact, I started the crucible forgetting to lower the difficulty and was able to rip through it in about 45 minutes on apocalyptic. All I did was hit frenzy, and even the boss guys were going down in one second. Hit frenzy, and quickly hit someone to get your wrath all the way up (30% wrath on hit) and if there are still anyone left hit frenzy again...next level..repeat

I didn't even use frenzy, or any other wrath powers really. I didn't see the need when every hit I landed on enemies fully restored my health.

Has anybody downloaded Argul's Tomb? More to the point, has anybody downloaded it with the pack-in code? I can't get mine to work (on the 360), but I note that instead of the usual:
####-#####-#####-#####-#####
format, mine has this format:
########-########
Is that a PS3 code format (i.e. did they just put the wrong code in my box), or am I doing something wrong?

edit...actually if you are using the code off the card you got, you actually have to enter that at darksiders.com/tomb, and they will send you the code

Actually, I figured it out. I needed to take my code to the Darksiders website and punch it in there. The website then gave me a 360 code. Stupidest thing I've ever seen. My guess is it probably forces me to register the game if I hadn't already/limits my ability to resell my Argul's Tomb code if I were so inclined.

Okay, I checked this thread cos Steam has this game and all it's DLC for $13.59 and I was wondering if I should get it. Now that review has me wondering if it's worth giving it a shot.

Personally, I like the game a lot. Really in my wheelhouse --- an amalgam of several game styles I like a lot -- and it's HUGE. A lot of folks didn't enjoy it, but I certainly think it's worth that price (of course, it'll continue to drop in price just like every THQ game on Steam.

re: Darksiders II
my biggest problem with the game really was just they made the puzzles so easy....I want to scratch my head in a game like this, and they took that out.
It was still a good game.

Very tempting price. I played and something-between-liked-and-loved the first one. This feels like the right price, but I already have a pretty sizable backlog. Is it worth it?

Totally at $14.99. It's a really cool game. A nice mix of several fun play-styles : Some God of War, some Zelda, some Prince of Persia. It's really a solid game, albeit with some frustrating parts.

i picked it up at that price. i've been looking for a deal, and had a $5 gift card from buying a blu a few weeks back, so for a net of 10, i'm happy. very happy. the store i did a pick up at had a bunch of the LE's left, so i'm hoping i get one of them with the DLC in it

re: Darksiders II
loving it so far...
Graphics
Skill Tree
RPG Elements (Gear, XP, etc.)
fast travel
combat/second weapon
only negative thing so far it's the quick/jumpy/twitchy movement when climbing stuff. I've died so many times because of forgetting to Hold LT or not facing the correct way or not timing it correctly.
What's the best way to go on the Skill tree?
