Thanks. It was down on the d-pad for the ps3 version.

About six hours in. The game is a blast to play at times. The only thing that really frustrates me is the platforming. Sometimes it works great and others it becomes frustrating. I was just at an area that i needed to jump on a ledge. I spent five minutes trying over and over. You have to be so precise and at the exact spot to make it up.

Construct Hulk can eat a bag of dicks. He takes 20 seconds to figure out his weakness and a half hour to kill. Just fucking die already.

re: Darksiders II

I just finished Construct Hulk and agree with you. The bosses so far have been easy to figure out their weakness but then they overload them with health.

So what skill tree are you guys focusing on? I'm doing Necromancer only. Should i pick a few from Harbinger?

re: Darksiders II

Different skills work well for different people, but I found Unstoppable (damage increase) from Harbinger and Murder (crows) from Necromancer to be the most useful.

Eventually none of it matters, though, if you learn how to properly build and upgrade your possessed weapons. In particular, look for and hang onto any weapon you find that has the Health Steal ability. You may not see any until about level 17 or 18, but once you do, it's Easy mode from that point forward.

re: Darksiders II

Well, I've just discovered what seems like a game-breaking bug in this game -- In the Foundry, just before you find the first heartstone, you ride the elevator with Karm. You're supposed to follow him out, but I did some exploring in the elevator shaft without him. When I came out of the elevator, Karm was gone and I need him to toss me to the next ledge. Now I can't progress at all. I've Fast Traveled to the Forge and back, come outside of the building, asked Dust for help. Exited the game and re-loaded it. Nothing is working. I even tried to re-write my game save with a previous Cloud save from yesterday (since this game only allows one game slot). All for naught. Any thoughts on what else I could do?

Yeah, I've heard of people experiencing that issue and others in the Foundry. I haven't seen anything that indicates there's a workaround yet, at least on 360. I think you may be out of luck until they patch the game.

re: Darksiders II

Checking the Darksiders forum, it does seem to be a common bug. I guess the patch was supposed to fix it, but not sure how to force my PS3 to download the patch.

The one thing I didn't try was Fast Travel to be beginning of the Foundry (rather than to the Waypoint I was previously at). If that doesn't work, I'm stuck until the next patch. At least they're aware of the problem. I guess I'll go back to finishing Dust : An Elysian Tale on the 360. Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust.

Edit: Fast Travel to the beginning of the Foundry level respawned Karm. No need to restart the whole game, thank goodness.

I am only a few hours in but I am not finding the magic the last game had. The big open map feels big for no reason. It just seems like they wanted to say "hey we made this game 5 times bigger than the last" but all they did was make it feel empty. So far the dungeons have been uninspired, but it is early so I hope they get harder.

Good to hear (and I don't think you can force your PS3 to download a patch because if I'm not mistaken, a patch has only been released for PC so far since that version was extremely broken as opposed to only somewhat broken).

I felt the same way, but it does get better once you leave that first map/world (Forge Lands). That was the dullest section of the game for me. As long as you don't mind tracking down 3 pieces of something so you can find 3 people to fulfill 1 of 3 requirements of a 3-part quest, you'll be ok. Really, this game goes beyond overboard on the whole "3" thing.

re: Darksiders II

Well, that's just where I am now. Just to the Tree of Life. Had a heck of a time with the final boss of world one -- the aiming and camera controls. Once I figured out how to defeat those, that other boss was pretty easy.

I actually like the game more than the first. The first game just felt like a poor man's God of War. This is more like Prince of Persia with better fighting and I just think it's more fun to play. But some of these bosses are a drag.

even though health steal does not show up till level 18 or so...can you sacrifice a higher level weapon to a lower level now? MoviePage you already trade this in?... if you have any weapons that you are not using that you can send me I would appreciate it. No big deal if you don't have the time, or already traded...

You can sacrifice any other weapon or item to any possessed weapon regardless of level, as far as I know. Don't be afraid to get rid of anything. Lack of loot is not a problem in this game. (Speaking of which, I'm so tired of RPGs where my inventory is constantly full and I have to spend a lot of time stressing over what to keep and what to lose...this game is particularly bad for that.)

I already traded the game or I could send you a bunch of stuff, sorry. I thought about offering here before I shipped the game off, but it seemed like everyone posting here at the time was playing on PS3.

Why wouldn't you want to keep them? Always keep or use Health Steal!

re: Darksiders II

it is getting a little better....the one thing that stands out now is how much easier the boss fights are than the first game.

I remember the first boss in the original took a long time to figure out it's weaknesses. This games bosses take me 30 seconds to figure them out. Even the boss before entering
Spoiler:
tree of death. The colossus boss weakness was even easy to figure out.

re: Darksiders II

I am on the last boss, but I need to finish this in the morning...

I agree with moviepage in that it is not as good as the first game. FINALLY the last few dungeons got challenging in the puzzles, but it never came close to the first game. One sequence later in the game (one world) becomes a shooter and that was the low point for me.

I had some problems with the combat. Some of the later enemies, you just can not avoid getting hit at times. Nothing you do is going to get you out of some attacks. It is not that bad, because you always survive, but it seems broken to me that no matter how good you are, you are not going to escape some attacks.

re: Darksiders II

finished it..started my new game plus on the highest difficulty...

took me over 32 hours for the first run, with at least 10 hours backtracking for items...If I had just done the main quest I can see doing it in 20 hours..

re: Darksiders II

Second run is significantly easier (and faster), even on the highest difficulty...especially if you have properly-upgraded weapons.
