Re: Nintendo Console Announced at E3 2011 (Wii U)

I'm not really sure who their target audience is with this one. I don't see anything to appeal to the "causal" crowd who ate up the Wii for Wii Sports only. $350 for a console which is no more powerful that what we've had for over 5 years is going to be a hard sell.

I was thinking this would be the one to bring me back, but definitely not right away. Had Nintendo, and got Super/64/Gamecube all on launch date. But sat out the Wii.

Well...I'm in.

Deluxe Set with Sonic Racing, Mario, Zombie U, Epic Mickey....if not more. Fuck.

TVii looked cool but not something I'll likely use.

No news on VC games

No.

It was in the blurb at the end and they showed a 5 second video.

Seemed odd that it would be skipped so it's not too surprising to see it. Assuming it launches with the 360/PS3 version since the release date is (now) around the same.

yeah, i'm skipping this console unless there is a mario/zelda game that just wows me. plus, if figure in a couple of years my oldest kid will start getting into video games, so this might be the one to get for him.

It's also coming out on the Wii so that makes me wonder if they just tacked on some functions for the Wii U.

Re: Nintendo Console Announced at E3 2011 (Wii U)

My guess is that it would be more of a port from the 360/PS3 version with full HD graphics. The Wii version will have to be dumbed-down.

Bayonetta 2 as an exclusive? Grrr

Here my simple yet possibly dumb question. I don't care about the tablet, or old wii-motes.

Can I just play everything with the pro controller?

I hope that's the case; although I'm sure there will be games with mandatory motion controls.

Has the US pricing for those been given? I think I saw $77 in Japan? That's amazingly overpriced.

I read that Nintendo is publishing Bayonetta 2. Perhaps Sega just wasn't interested in a sequel? I am not sure how well the original Bayonetta sold.

1.7 million of which were purchased at $20 or less, I'd guess.

I know this was rumored to not be a feature of the Wii U but has Nintendo said anything about upscaling Wii games?

Is that good or bad? I have no idea how much a game like this needs to sell for it to be considered a success.

How much you can use the pro controller will dictate if i get this. I really don't care about motion or gimmicky controllers. I just want to play Nintendo licensed games hassle free.

Nintendo Land and New Super Mario Bros. U are Nintendo's only confirmed launch day games

Ok, split screen (Tv vs Gamepad) Black Ops sounds pretty dang cool.

Re: Nintendo Console Announced at E3 2011 (Wii U)

What would be really cool is if you could use the gamepad screen as the main, basically making it a handheld if you're in range of the console. I'd buy it at launch if that were the case just because I can't tie up the TV playing games very often.

Haven't been keeping up with the Wii U have you?? That's one of it's features ( http://www.nintendo.com/wiiu/features/ ), though I'm not sure every game supports it.
