That is pretty much what I do, though Pinata obviously makes better decisions after the flop than I do.

Quick way to mute from the table would be nice too. They already let you focus on a player, it would be easy to add:

X - Toggle Mute
A - View Gamercard

I know you're being facetious, but I do like to chase in Heat

Again, I'm of the mindset that chips are secondary to XP in that mode, especially if you know you're sitting on a Life Preserver ;)

I do that with the humans too. There's nothing worse than playing the blinds only when it's down to 2 people. If you won't call a 500 raise when you're sitting on a stack of 30k, then you're not going to get a cheap flop out of me. Conversely - I will accept a free/cheap flop if I have nothing.

What I like to do is stare at a real player that's dropped in next to me.

Haha! Yes, chuck and I did that to each other the other day. I'm sure it looked like we were about to kiss and I'm just sad neither of us could see it to appreciate it.

Player Avoided for being a douche.

The pocket Aces would be douche-y, but the beginers guide could be funny. I can't really think of a good reason to put on a headset for this game to be honest.

5% of over 2M ending table chips (gold medal) pushed me over 500,000 bankroll - Achievement Unlocked.

There's nothing that anyone could possibly have to say in this game that would be worth hearing, so I usually* mute the game entirely and put my iPod on. It's a great game for listening to music to.

*Although I was in a tourney that first week and noticed that every time I would fold, the little "player talking" icon would pop up over the chipleader. So I unmuted, and listened as he chastised me every time I folded. I took particular pleasure in busting his ass out of the tournament a couple dozen hands later. . .

As had been first suggested, Texas Heat is definitely the way to advance in the game. I played the 5-7pm PT round and advanced from Level 9 to Level 13 and my bankroll went from 3600 chips to 168,000 chips. Mostly played with bots and went silver, gold, silver, bronze.

Anyone know what the reward +5 Rank points is for?

In a ranked tournament it represents how many people you outlasted. You can see your total on the ranked leaderboard.

Well, if I can ever get through a whole 30 minutes of Heat without being dropped, I would imagine my bankroll would increase too :)(as is, I have a lousy 4k). The +5 rank points is for your ranked multiplayer position on the leaderboard. I have a lousy +10 because I've won 2 rounds of ranked multiplayer :) Pinata has significantly higher when I checked yesterday.

It's all I would play outside of Heat if it wasn't currently broken by cheaters. I won't be messing with it anymore for a while, if at all, unfortunately.

It is quite annoying. I don't mind people folding and quitting standard matches, but guaranteed no second place is super annoying.

Re: Full House Poker (XBLA) - Thread of All-In Action Against Bots in an MMO Setting

I'm not very good at poker I would hazard (although i did play my first real game the other night and won $40!), but the ranked multiplayer seems really easy (so far) to at least place as a result from other people's stupidity. The two times I've done it (and I guess I've been lucky enough that no one has cheated by just quitting) I've played conservatively until almost everyone All-Ins themeselves out of the game. First time I got third, second time I got first. It's been fun.

Another question, when you buy in to a ranked multiplayer game and lose... do you lose the buy-in? Or, if I buy in for 1000, and by placing I win 1200, do I really only come away with an extra 200?

Yes/yes.

Then it hasn't updated since I won the All-Pro last night. I had almost 700k but I fucked around a bit in the APT trying to rush it. And when I played normal, boy would they suck out on me. I actually ended up taking two 100k cash advances when I hit 68k. Anyway, I should be at 568k now so that's about even.

If somebody stalls a tourney game, is there any point in hanging around, or will it stay stalled until everyone quits?

It's a glitch so you will stay stalled

Yeah, I eventually had to quit. Ugg. Won a couple last night at least, but my bankroll is tiny.

Same here. I'm progressing through levels and winning hands but it takes way too long for the blinds to be relevant. So eventually I get bored and go all in just for the heck of it. They really need to speed up things.
