Hey I guess I haven't thought about it until now becase there was no activity in the thread, but sorry for dropping out of the game without notice a couple nights ago so soon after I joined. Got a high priority text from work and I had to drop what I was doing and check that out.

If I'm on tonight, I'll likely hit Level 50. Come be a part of history!

re: Battlefield Talk
Last game tonight was EPIC. It was 6 on 7 on Laguna Presa, and I damn near beat the other team single-handedly. I was rolling from objective to objective alternating between medic and engineer, and using a Bradley whenever one was available. I also kept the map well populated with mines, and I was just on a bit of a roll in terms of accuracy and reflex. Final talley:
I actually took a picture of the screen with my phone.
Big congrats to Spatch for hitting level fiddy! You'll remember that kill...mine was shooting a guy off the gunner seat in a CAV that had just tried to run me over.
- 41 and 11
- real score (no stars) of 9700...I usually only see scores like that on Nelson Bay
- ace by just over 3000 points

Nice. I took some pictures on my phone last night, too, including pics of DieCast's and Yawmush's dogtags. I think my overall tally on friend tags is something like this:
DieCast - 7
Yaw - 6
KTown - 4 or 5
ogs - 2
Some of you are more... elusive...
I hit Level 50 on Carl Gustav kill #3546. I can't believe I hit Level 50. I can't believe I've played the game enough to hit Level 50. I can't believe I've killed that many people with Uncle Carl! I can't believe I fell into playing games online. Never in a million years did I think I'd have any interest, let alone skill, in playing FPS games nor socialize with people who did. So thank you.

Me too brother. We should play sometime for old time's sake.
And for the record, I'm convinced that you would love playing engineer in Battlefield. Between the douchey mines and the douchey Carl Gustav, I think you'd have a blast.
OG and Shum updated above. OG snagged my tags last night (and sent me an Om Nom note)...but I'm thinking he already had them. Spatula did his level best to get them but just got shot in the face a lot.

re: Battlefield Talk
Rolled with Lee for 3-4 hours last night and had a blast. Had one game with a combat efficiency, excellence, and efficiency run (14 straight) and ended up 29 and 7. I finished the night up with a tank parked in the US base on Port Valdez watching the chopper spawn and then taking it out whenever somebody got in it. [insert evil laugh here]
I also had a round on Port Valdez before Lee dropped in where we beat a team that was better than we were mostly because of my mining the place up and keeping them out of vehicles almost entirely. I had the ace by over 2000 points.

I like reading little stories like this!
Entered two courses this week, with one of them being a full semester stuff into this and next week only so if I'm online either I finished my homework and am taking a quick break (in which case, I need to be encouraged to keep it quick) or I'm procrastinating (in which case, I need to be encouraged to get back to it). So basically, I likely won't be on much but you should post your stories here so I can play vicariously through your stories.

re: Battlefield Talk
Here's a few you'll like from White Pass:
We're the US, so Alpha is on our side of the map. I keep capturing it only to have the other team recapture it right after I leave, and it's getting annoying because I think somebody is camped there. I stick around for a few seconds after taking it to see what happens, and some dickhead shoots me from the second floor, but he makes the mistake of letting me see where he was hiding in my kill cam. He was on the second floor in that tiny little nook on the opposite side from the server room. It kind of looks like the top of a stairwell, but with no stairs, and it's a great hiding spot...not to mention a great strategy to win from the Russian side. I spawn on the US base and run up the scaffolding on the back of Alpha (while they are still holding it) and pop around the corner to stab him in the face. Knowing he'll respawn at Alpha, but on the Russian side of it, I park in the corner by the back door...watch him run in...and stab him again from behind just as I neutralize the flag. I teabagged him for so long.
Same map:
I'm running through that house across the street from the Charlie grain silo, and I see a wookie run up the steps. Apparently the team has blown out the back wall of the attic so they can camp in and on the roof of that little house by the UAV. The wookie hops across and into the roof, and he either joined two guys or two guys spawned on him, because when I tossed a grenade in there, I got a triple kill. Then I ran downstairs, and they only had Charlie, so I camped in those windows looking over Charlie and lit so many dudes up as they tried to run up the hill...SO MANY DUDES. It was an epic couple of minutes and was my second Combat Excellence of the night.

re: Battlefield Talk
Good times tonight with OG.
The highlight was overcoming a pretty douchey team on a couple of rounds in Port Valdez, which is rapidly becoming one of my favorite maps. Really, all of the snow maps are pretty awesome. First, they worked our team over pretty good on Nelson Bay. Despite going something like 37 and 19, and OG going something like 24 and 18, they beat us by 25 points or so, and I was itching to give them some payback.
The first round, I spend most of my time mining up the entrances to Bravo and keeping them out of vehicles. I only ended up with 11 kills, but 9 of them were mines.
The second round, we were on the Russian team, and I snuck into their base and did that "steal their tank and park it on the helo pad" move. I did it while they still had Charlie, so I think it cought them off guard pretty bad. They eventually got me, but not before I got a combat exellence and kept them out of their chopper long enough for us to get a strong foothold everywhere else.
Most of their best players quit out after that round.

Beautiful! Going into that Russian deployment on Port Valdez and ripping people to shreds with the VADS / AA gun when they spawn and blowing up choppers can be so funny, especially when it takes forever for them to figure out what's going on.
More, I need more vicarious mayhem!

Funny shit happens in all Battlefields...just less aggrevating shit in BC2.
Glad to see you're still lurking!
And glad to see that the codtards still look in here every now and then.

It's the US deployment, but yeah. I think the guy who was most surprised was the guy who was on the VADS lighting up our chopper. TANK SHOT TO THE FACE!!!!

Let's set up a game at the end of next week, 19K. I'll play with you.
