I'm not getting any errors at all now. Everything is fine. No backward dragons, resistances work, no freezing, textures look good.

Me neither - besides the release-date patch, I haven't updated yet, but I've had zero glitches/freezes in the last 20 or so hour of play on my 360 (not installed).

Got my Dark Brotherhood crew rolling with me now..Shadowmere and Spectral assassin. The Horse is like a horse on steroids, it actually fights and kills things

Shadowmere is amazing. She disappeared on me once I got Frost. I'm super bummed. :(

It was a side mission around Riften where somebody wants you to steal a horse for them.

It's my understanding that owned horses should go back to stables, but I've never seen her again yet. I still hope she'll show up at some point. To be fair, Frost is still awesome and thus far has been pretty identical to Shadowmere in terms of ability and aggressiveness, but I prefer the look of Shadowmere.

Shadowmere will comeback if it dies/gets lost..although I read it might take 20 days.

If Frost dies..thats it.

can followers die?
i had a follower but he seems to have disappeared or maybe died.

I have not run into another follower since i found him.
He was an archer in the early part of the game.
I've been doing mostly side quests since then. Do they mostly pop up in the main quest?

They can definitely die. My Lydia kicked the bucket while fighting a blood dragon. You can find other followers by completing side quests, as well as main. Currently I'm using Mjoll and she's pretty much a melee beast. Slapped some legendary ebony armor and a battle axe on her and she rips everyone to shreds!

Non-essential followers can die. You either have to kill them, or they have to get something that has huge Damage over Time (Such as poisons).

Essential Followers are those that are important in regards to questlines etc.

Mjoll is one essential follower, so she can not die.

Many followers are found in the cities, Seems like you haven't made it to a major city yet, there are several followers in Whiterun, which would be the first city you go to if you do a couple of main quest missions.

Get Uthgerd if you are a mage. She is a really good tank, but is pretty good with bow and arrow as well.

Like most non-Shadowmere horses, Frost lasted all of about 10 minutes in my game before a bear/bandit combo fight ended his short adventuring days.

I got Shadowmere later though, and he's still with me. If you fast travel to a non-city location, he should be right beside you, or at the stables when going to a city. I'm not sure if you can have more than one "owned" horse at a time, so if the fast travelling doesn't work, maybe check the Sanctuary to see if he's hanging around there.

actually, i have been to a number of major cities. I've been to Whiterun and the city with the thieves guild. I usually go to the tavern in the city in each city to ask for work and got tons of side quests, but have yet to encounter another follower since my first one died.

There are couple of potential followers in Whiterun Tavern. One is Uthgerd..she wants you to brawl with her..you beat her you get her as a follower..and I think there is a mercernary in there as well.

So are there any storylines that involve Lydia that I should know about? She went and got herself killed fighting a dragon (she wasn't smart enough to hide in a cave like me) and I just want to know if I should go back to a previous save.

Just maxed out Enchanting and holy crap! Full set of armor with 25% destruction, 62% magic regen x4 pieces. Free Master destruction spells rip everything to shreds. Hot damn!

I just hit level 46 and have 80 hours logged. Still did maybe just four of the main quests. I started the Thieves Guild quests. How do I start the Dark Brotherhood?
