Re: Mass Effect 3
I kinda wouldn't want a game with true branching paths. On the one hand, I'd like to see everything a game has to offer, on the other hand, I wouldn't want to re-play a lot of a game, especially an RPG, just to see a mission or two that I may have missed. Giving a game big branching patch would also cut down on a game's single-playthrough time. Better to just incorporate most everything in the one playthrough.

Yeah, I agree. My full ME2 playtgrough took over 45 hours. I don't have time for multiple runs or characters. On ME1 I know I put in 100-120 or something.

You have to configure the save file before you import it. Go to the ME2 configuration menu and check a tab that says something like game save.

Bioware has revealed the list of composers who worked on this game:
Hello all!
We want to share the official list of the talented team of composers who will play critical roles in Mass Effect 3's musical development, with direction led by BioWare’s acclaimed audio team. The roster of composers for Mass Effect 3 includes:
Clint Mansell, Golden Globe nominated Hollywood composer recognized for scoring celebrated films including Black Swan, The Wrestler and Requiem for a Dream.
Christopher Lennertz, Emmy nominated Hollywood composer known for his work on the recent movie Horrible Bosses, also composed Mass Effect 2: Overlord, Mass Effect 2: Lair of the Shadow Broker, and won the Interactive Academy Award for Medal of Honor.
Cris Velasco, known for composing the God of War series’ score, has also worked on downloadable content Mass Effect 2: Kasumi and Mass Effect 2: Arrival.
Sam Hulick, veteran to the Mass Effect series having composed the score for Mass Effect, Mass Effect: Bring Down the Sky and Mass Effect 2.
Sascha Dikiciyan, video game industry veteran, known for composing the score for TRON: Evolution and the scores of Mass Effect 2: Kasumi and Mass Effect 2: Arrival.
“The magic of BioWare games has always been the emotional power of the story, so music is extremely important to the experience,” said Casey Hudson, Executive Producer of the Mass Effect series. “With Mass Effect 3, we’re taking players on a more personal journey, even though the scope is bigger than ever – an all-out galactic war! Each composer has played an intricate role in delivering the combination of epic scope and delicate emotion that will make Mass Effect 3 the best game in the series.”
You can download a music teaser here! (This particular contribution is by Sam)
I should go.

Apparently this was hidden in the demo files.

So I guess Faunts is back doing the end credits track.

I got to meet Mark Meer (voice of Male Shepard) at MegaCon this weekend. He said there are some VERY interesting story details based on your completed ME2 save.

I hope that at some point someone updates a wiki with all the variations.
And in news that makes me excited, I'm off work the week this comes out. Hell to the yes!

I can't remember the last time I was this excited about a game's release. Playing the Arrival DLC gave me a chance to get re-acclimated to the ME button layout, and I'll probably spend some time in the multiplayer portion of the ME3 demo before 3/6.

I have spent near 8 hours on the coop demo alone. I think this might be the single best horde mode ever. I am having more fun with the demo than I did with the full versions of horde from Halo and Gears. With a good team it is addictive. The way they inch out upgrades slowly just keeps you playing. Adding random loot is genius.

Nice use of "Black Blade" by Two Steps From Hell.
They really should just make that proposed Mass Effect movie animated instead of live action.
I only played the MP portion of the demo once. Didn't really care for it.

MP demo was quite fun.
Have they gotten rid of that awful "mining" requirement? Oh how I hated that...

Re: Mass Effect 3
So, looks like one of the new squadmates (potentially the most interesting addition, in fact), along with his related story/quests, were withheld from the game to be released as day-one DLC.
No big deal, right? Everybody's doing it now! The "online pass" content will surely be free for those who buy the game new, just like Zaeed for ME2 and everything similar since.
Hold up just a second, modern gamer! Only those who purchase the CE get it free. Everyone else pays $10 for day-one DLC. Of a significant team member in an RPG.
That slope sure is getting more slippery all the time, isn't it?

That's not news. In fact, the DLC character and his quest being free only on the CE was one of the chief selling points.

There were characters only available as paid DLC in Mass Effect 2 as well with Kasumi.

Re: Mass Effect 3
Ah well. There's no point turning this thread into yet another discussion of the same issue. I'll just say I'm very disappointed in Bioware, a company I once loved.

Re: Mass Effect 3
Where do you draw the line for a character that "should have" been included on the disc? I feel like there's more than enough in ME2 already. I tried them all out, but always stuck with the same two that complimented my style anyway. So it's really a moot point.
