K-Mart always has them when I'm in there. Plus I think they're still doing the $15 or $20 VG coupon with it this weekend.

Our Walmart ad says it'll have a literal fuckton of them on Saturday.

Yay BB has them. Gonna wait another hour until the lines die down, then picking it up today
I'm going to go with Just Dance, but I'm iffy on EA Active, I'm not sold on the just fitness ones. I want one that's hardcore cardio. Too bad the Zumba one has control issues, that was going to be game #2.

Just Dance is a terrible Wii dancing game. I think you mean Dance Central. It was free this morning at Old Navy for the early risers. Probably flooding ebay by now.

Re: Kinect: Are you buying one?
Huh $35, no idea if I should buy or wait.... think it'll go down further?
Meh, I bit for $35, Priority shipping included, here Wednesday or Thursday, days off from work =) Thanks Decker you saved me $12!!
Recommendations on game #2? Which is the best, hardcorest game? Go for EA Active 2 even with floor issues? I have a HUGE room, like 15 feet.
Heh, paid with Bill Me Later and got $10 back so it was $25 total shipped.
Ended getting up Dance Masters also, so that's going to be my first two games. Can't wait!! About to head out to Best Buy, the two nearest K-Marts were out.

Decided not to pick up Dance Masters for now, but I don't know how I walked out of Best Buy with the Kinect AND the move lol The demo sold me, and if the Zumba reviews are good, getting it for the Move. Dance Central is going to be it for now for the Kinect, and I expect I'll use the hell out of it.
Al, Zumba is getting HORRIBLE reviews because of poor recognition, check out Amazon, 2 stars.

Re: Kinect: Are you buying one?
I'm not convinced on non-dance games yet. I ended up buying one game per system. Gold's Gym Dance for the Wii, Zumba for the PS3, and Dance Central for the 360. I don't really work out at the gym, I just go to the group classes. So I'm not sure it would hold my interest. Sooner or later I'll try it but to start off I'm going to go with something I KNOW I like already =)

Re: Kinect: Are you buying one?
Got to see it in action tonight at Best Buy.
It didn't monopolize people's attention - there were also people playing with the Move, and DJ Hero 2 setups - but it always had a few people checking it out.
My boy played a little Sports with a couple other kids who were there. They kept creeping up toward the sensor [an issue I had heard about] and all three wanted to play at the same time.
In general I was pretty surprised with how well it tracked people, and this was in a store having not been calibrated to individual users. It got a little wacky when one kid was standing behind the other during the javelin - the guy on screen looked like he was having a seizure - but apart from that it did pretty well. I can definitely see the workout even based on the few minutes of Sports - you can't just fake it by wiggling the stick like you can on the Wii.
I asked my boy if he liked it - he said no. I asked why not - "because it's not at our house". Oh. I guess that's an endorsement, even considering that kids usually want whatever they see.
And my wife decided she wanted one after seeing a commercial for Dance Central. Sounds like Dance Central, Your Shape, and Sports are pretty good choices to start with? I'm not sure about Kinectimals - I see it's scored pretty well, but is there a game there or is it just a pet sim?
Now that Black Friday is over, are there any deals on games? I saw gift cards with the console bundle, but I don't need another console, so I've been looking for just the camera itself. Now looking on deals for games, but seeing as how it's new hardware/software, is being reasonably well received, and it's post BF, that's probably unlikely.

Sports and Dance Central are the winners in my book, though I haven't tried Kinectimals. Adventure (Free) can be fun in small doses as well.
Adventure contains a demo of Dance Central (Poison and Poker Face), Joy Ride and Your Shape (less a demo than a quick tech preview).

Interesting. Zumba is actually my wife's favorite game out of the 1/2 dozen that we've purchased. I tried it the other morning and it's a pretty sweaty workout. I think it helps though if you've done a Zumba class or two though in the past because it's kind of WTF is this and WTF am I supposed to do?
It was fun though, although I'll put in another plug for Your Shape too.

Re: Kinect: Are you buying one?
Got it and hooked it up today as early Christmas present for all of us. Had to have the discussion with my boy - if this is a big early Christmas present, then there won't be a "big" present from us on Christmas, and he was ok with that. Of course, we'll see what happens on Christmas day.
Setup was pretty easy, apart from untangling the cables. In one place it said do not put it on top of the TV, in another place and on Inside Xbox it said it was OK to put it on top. I did. Had to move the Wii sensor bar.
Did get Kinect Sports, Dance Central, and Your Shape. We've playing playing Adventures for about the last two hours, except for 20 min when my wife tried Dance Central before going to work.
I'll tell you this, I never sweated with any Wii game. but I did with that train/minecart race thing. And my boy has never had issues with exercise or playing outside, but this is a way to let him play video games while not just sitting on the couch. He has lots of energy and sometimes he can't use it outside.
Also a word of warning - watch out for ceiling fans.
One weird thing - even though I'm signed in, it doesn't consistently use my avatar - and my avatar has glasses, but Adventures removed them.
I'll still play the Fallouts and Bioshocks with a controller on my couch, but so far the Kinect is pretty impressive for what it is.
It's funny, I bought the EyeToy for PS1, I guess, way back when, which ultimately is a camera that allowed on screen interaction, but there's quite a difference between that and Kinect.
As has been said, I don't think it'll become the main gaming console/accessory over 'traditional' gaming, but I can see it taking a strong second, especially with the control features and ease of use.

For those with EA Active 2:

At least they seem to confirm that a patch is on the way.
I've hit my fan a few times. Funny enough, when I set my Kinect back up (I took it down with me for a family get together) it kept seeing my ceiling fan as a person (5 limbs and all.)

Anyone else already think the recent Wii dancing game commercials look almost antiquated because the players are having to hold a controller?

Damn it, free? Nah not worth $47 for all those hours in the cold.
I think I know the answer.
