Has anyone who preordered from Amazon still not got a shipping notice? Wondering if I should just go out and buy the game, or if Amazon will eventually deliver it. I don't need it now (its a Christmas present), but since its Limited I want to make sure I get a copy.

Mine showed up today from Amazon. Thanks Prime!

Just got off the phone with them, and Amazon said it should ship late tonight or maybe tomorrow morning and I would get it in 7 days. When I mentioned I had Prime he said I should still get it in 2 days. Not a real helpful call... I'm a little worried I want get this from Amazon now. If it hasn't shipped tomorrow I'll just pickup a copy at Best Buy. :(

Amazing people would be in such a rush to play games that are years (decades even) old.

I can't believe all the game is is an emulation pretty much. They didn't even bother to change the controller icons in the game from the SNES to whatever you will want to use on the Wii.

the kicker is that they probably put more effort into removing Mario world than putting together a nice birthday tribute collection.

My original Super Mario All-Stars cartridge didn't have Mario World either.

Correct, and they wouldn't want to cannibalize VC sales. And besides, if you want a complete collection you'd have to throw in Yoshi's Island because it was the sequel to SMW.

Curious how this looks with component cables on an HDTV.

Worth the upgrade over the SNES version (which I still have)?

Plus, SMW 1 and 2 would require a controller other than the regular Wii controller turned sideways.

I know SMW sucks to play with the Wavebird. The buttons seem all wrong.

Later on in the SNES lifecycle, there was a cart with All-Stars + Mario World, but most carts just had All-Stars without Mario World.

They look very crisp. The graphics are the same, but everything looks very sharp within the game through component cables. I just think the whole set is nice to have, especially for die-hard Mario fans. For the price, I say go for it.

Odd its still says shipping soon with a estimated delivery date of Dec 15th. I did get a email this morning apologizing for the delay. Hopefully it ships soon.

For those that ordered on Amazon did it come in a box? I noticed on the product page a few people were complaining that it shipped in a bubble envelope and got damaged.

Re: Super Mario All-Stars (US release - December) $29.99

I'm planning on picking this up as a Christmas gift for a friend. Couple of questions...

Do these games work with the Wii controller or do you need to purchase a "classic controller"?

Even if you can use the regular Wii controller, how well does it work with the game? I've played Wii games a few times, but I can't see the regular Wii controller being a good fit for this game.

What can I expect to spend on "classic controllers" and are there decent third party versions available that my be less expensive?

Thanks!

Re: Super Mario All-Stars (US release - December) $29.99

You can use the Wii-Mote, it's turned sideways so it's basically like using the old NES controller.

Classic Controllers run about $20 I believe.
