Also I don't approve of vocal harmonies achievements since it's tied to a single profile yet requires 2 or 3 people. It's lame and bullshit.

So you don't want to sing Bohemian Rhapsody multiple times ever? What the fuck is wrong with you?

I'll do that shit multiple times in a row if local people need achievements.

Right...but to require specific songs is what my issue is. The ones that are for beating 5-12-20 downloaded songs make sense. But ones requiring specific songs or artists seem really odd. Because this doesn't operate like normal DLC. You don't get a complete package to which they assign achievements based on said package. Now if you don't like Queen nor NIN you can't get the achievements. That seems really weird.

Not all of us play with bands at work constantly. I don't have a steady stream of competent singers to tackle something like that on Medium or higher, let alone multiple times.

I honestly have given up on achievements related to Rock Band or Guitar Hero. (But for some reason, I kick butt on Lips achievement wise). I just want to sing songs and play some guitar (and in the case of my wife, play drums and sing songs). Honestly, I was tickled pink when I gold starred a Red Hot Chili Peppers song because I sang it on expert. Other games, I'm a whore for achievements. Band games, not so much.

*raises hand*. As long as I know the song, I'm your competent singer. :D

These DLC achievements are pretty specific for a reason. Don't you think that Queen, Boston and NIN might be the first bands to get the "legacy" support?

Doesn't change the fact that they shouldn't target specific bands with achievements.

BTW..I'm all about some Black Keys DLC next week.

And we're supposed to believe The Black Keys don't have keyboard parts charted?

There's only two reasons I won't have all of them within the first week..

1) The Squier won't be out, so I can't get the Pro Guitar achievements
2) I'm having a contest with a friend to replay *ALL* songs (except RBN) and we're probably going to have a 2 week delay on that to play through and enjoy the RB3 disc stuff. That'll be around 1500 songs or so.

I even have tracks for all the bands in question and specifically The Perfect Drug. I'm just irritated at the principle. And you now.

For me, achievements are like tasty frosting. I'll enjoy it while I eat my slice of cake, but I'm not going to sit there and just devour all the frosting on the cake as soon as possible. I also won't be upset if some of that frosting falls on the floor and I never get to eat it. #BestAnalogyEver

For me, I want a piece of cake with a ton of frosting on it. Even put the frosting flower or whatever on my slice. :-)

But I hate frosting so what kind of twisted, psychotic monster am I in this analogy?!

It's not even that. I buy a game I know I have a shot at 1000 points. Whether I get to them is another matter, but the point is they are there. Apparently for RB3 you can skim 300 off the top on release day without dropping $300? on a guitar, $100 on a keyboard, $30-$50 for cymbals and some extra dough for multiple microphones.

So including the game you have to spend around $500+ to just have a chance at all the achievements. There's no way to spin that into something positive. That's just weak.

I don't think it's positive, I just don't care. I don't play the guitar in these games anymore, so I can immediately assume that I'll never get a full thousand points anyway. That doesn't really bother me. I think it makes sense for them to throw in some achievements for the new instruments, and the only people who will really be upset by that are the hardcore completionists, and who really cares what they think? ;)

I'm a hardcore completionist, and I think the achievements are awesome! I only wish they'd announce a date for that $300 Squier so that I could go pre-order it.

These are RB3 achievements right? They should include things you can do in RB3, not people who just want a new setlist.

They do include new RB3 things. There are keyboard and protar achievements.

That was his point. He was defending the achievements ;)
