Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
I'm in for Bad Medicine but that's about it.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
I'd get all the stuff from New Jersey plus Blaze of Glory and maybe Runaway.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Sucks that this pack will just miss the 2400pt promotion.

Ha! Thanks for preserving my lack of reading comprehension. :p
Argh. I didn't even look at the track list because I already know what's on the album. |

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Here's a link to the Winterland performance of Hey Joe that's being used.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4L63iQSzdSc Kinda annoyed. It's a great version but the drum into is going to be annoying. I hope it's in time and not too hard. |
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
It has a BRB!
It's possible they will trim it to not include that part. |
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
I hope. This version is probably devil tiered even without the intro where as the studio version would have been 3 or so. No way I'm getting through it on expert. At least my buddy on guitar can save me .... oh wait ....

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Well at least in RB3 whenever you fail a song you'll be given the option to continue anyway. It won't save your score, but at least you can play the whole thing without having to turn on No Fail or go into practice mode.

But where's the PROOF that these songs are omitted by the RB3 software? Do we know the files even exist on the system to be played?
Still being a skeptic a few days later, I find this to be pretty definitive proof: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-xcHEMJ1Pw It's a video from a leaked copy of the game. At 3:00 in you can see the number of tracks from each source and clearly see 53 songs from RB1. The game initially had 58 songs, we lost 3 initially and now we have two more lost. In the comments the poster of this video confirms that "Dani California" and "Black Hole Sun" no longer show up in his setlist. The most telling thing is that this video isn't called "DEFINITIVE PROOF THAT NOT ALL LEGACY DLC WORKS IN RB3!" Dude is just showing off his game and only addressed the two missing songs unceremoniously in the comments. To doubt it at this point is literally to suggest that there's some sort of underground movement to fool people into thinking there are missing songs when there aren't. Are we to believe that the handful of people who have copies of this game have conspired to delete these two songs off their harddrives to mess with us? That's crazy, just like it's crazy to cling to a bunch of assumptions based on broad and general comments like "we licensed all the content for future games!" I mean, it was pretty much accepted as fact that all the RB2 songs were immediately licensed for future games due to what happened with the 3 that didn't carry over from RB1 to RB2 and what do we have now? Harmonix dragging their feet on what WILL carry over and only confirming that some WON'T. What's also crazy is for any of us to think we know the licensing agreements for any of these songs and to somehow think that the presence of a file on our harddrives is a guarantee that a game will recognize it. In reality the Rock Band library is undoubtedly comprised of thousands of individual licensing deals, each one with its own little quirks and conditions so when something as major as a new installment of the series comes along it stands to reason that there will be a few snags. Also, from a technical standpoint Lego: Rock Band proves that certain songs can simply be flagged for exclusion. Ultimately I'm extremely disappointed in this development (more for the RHCP song, and it makes me worry about "Give It Away" too) and I'm still holding out hope that the licensing can eventually be worked out and the songs can be unlocked via a title update but I can't rationalize sticking my head in the sand like an ostrich and ignoring the very likely possibility that it's true. |
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Will Rock Band 3 songs play on Rock Band 2? There's no way to import it that way is there?
|
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
No they won't. New DLC from 10.26 forward will also only be playable in RB3.
