Rock the Casbah should be a fun song to sing. I've sang it in my car before but never really knew the words. I know the melody for sure, now I get to put together the right words.

I've never heard it, but most of the time there's one instrument that is at least decent to play. There's a handful of songs that just suck all-around though. |
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Not a week for me, but if you're a Coldplay fan, you've got kind of a lot to choose from here...
Next Tuesday, October 18th, marks the long-awaited debut of Alternative rockers Coldplay on the Rock Band store! First up in the 6-pack is the breakthrough single that pushed the band into mainstream popularity, “Yellow,” off of the band’s studio debut, Parachutes. It’s followed by “The Scientist” and “Clocks,” two tracks off Coldplay’s sophomore effort, the Grammy Award-winning A Rush of Blood to the Head. Rounding out the collection of hits are the band’s popular tracks “Fix You,” the anthemic “Viva la Vida,” and “Every Teardrop is a Waterfall,” the lead single off its latest album, Mylo Xyloto, which hits stores on October 24! As always, songs available as downloadable content for Rock Band 3 feature five-button guitar and bass parts, drums, Pro Drums, and keys, Pro Keys and harmonies, where applicable. Some songs also feature Pro Guitar and Pro Bass upgrades available for an additional $0.99 upgrade download. Available on Xbox 360, Wii and PlayStation®3 system (October 18th, 2011): Coldplay – “Yellow” X Coldplay – “The Scientist” Coldplay – “Clocks” X Coldplay – “Fix You” Coldplay – “Viva la Vida” Coldplay – “Every Teardrop is a Waterfall” (These tracks will be available in Europe on PlayStation®3 system October 19th) The tracks will be available as “Coldplay Collection 01” and will be available for purchase individually on Xbox 360®, PlayStation®3 system and Wii™. Tracks marked with “X” will include Pro Guitar and Pro Bass expansions for $0.99 per song. Price: $9.99, £4.99 UK, €7.99 EU (800 Microsoft Points, 1000 Wii Points™) for “Coldplay Collection 01” $1.99 USD, £.99 UK, €1.49 EU (160 Microsoft Points) per song $2.00 USD (200 Wii Points™) per song $0.99 USD (100 Wii Points™/80 Microsoft Points), £0.59 UK, €0.79 EU per song for eligible Pro Guitar/Pro Bass upgrade ** Dates for Rock Band game tracks are tentative and subject to change. ** |

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
I should stop paying attention to early announcements. It's like double the disappointment. You hear the announcement and think "Really, Coldplay?" and then you kind of forget about it until...BOOM. Coldplay. I don't hate Coldplay, but I do hate that I'll have friends nagging me to get those songs. I wish they'd tossed in a few Elbow songs as well.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Well, I'm sure this thread will soon turn into a huge whinefest, but I'll go on record : I like Coldplay. I have all their albums and have seen them in concert twice. I'm happy that they're coming to RB, even though I can't imagine that most songs will be much fun to play on guitar-- if nothing else, it'll give me an excuse to break out the keytar again. To those who are so disappointed that it's Coldplay week, just wait. New stuff every week means that eventually there will be something for pretty much everyone. Don't sweat it.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
I don't have a problem with Coldplay either. I don't actively listen or go to concerts, but I recognize they have decent tunes and other people (especially the ladies) dig their stuff. I might get the whole pack, but for sure Viva La Vida, I dug that song.
Corvin, you left out The Clash on your list. Sure it's one song in that sea of drivel, but it was there :) To those who are so disappointed that it's Coldplay week, just wait. New stuff every week means that eventually there will be something for pretty much everyone. Don't sweat it. |
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
I just like complaining. It's definitely good for the game that I'm not allowed to pick DLC. One of my favorite weeks ever was the week the Pixies' Doolittle album came out, and that's probably still one of the worst-selling DLC packs ever.

Why do we still have to say this to people around here after 4 years? Seriously, you're all going to make it until next Friday, I promise. Nope *impale* *death*. F'Coldplay and the pansy colored horse they rode in on :). </sarcasm> Not my bag of cheese (I like mine with bad hair and lipstick) but it is another disapointing week for the most part. I haven't bought anything in about a month but perhaps "Rock the Catbox" will help :) I will make it to next Friday, but I hope there is something at the end of the rainbow. |

Why not just keep submitting their favorite band/songs to suggestions on the RB3 website instead? |
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Considering they were one of the first DLC for LIPS, I didn't think it would be far behind for it to show up on Rock Band. But since there's no more support for LIPS, I'm a little happy to see some of their songs show up here for instrument play as well even if they are not my cup of tea.

Don't know if anyone still wants one but here is the wooden starburst strat for only $63 direct from Amazon. I have the red wooden one and love it. Shows only 13 left in stock. Here's a different link, same item for 60 bucks. http://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Fende..._ob_vg_title_0 |

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Oh, neat. I'll buy "I Believe in a Thing Called Love".
Fresh tracks from White Zombie are creeping towards the Rock Band Music Store on October 25th, kicking into overdrive with “Thunder Kiss ’65,” from the band’s 1992 major label debut, La Sexorcisto: Devil Music, Vol. 1. White Zombie fans can also pick up “Super-Charger Heaven” – known to many as “Devilman” due to the song’s repeating, hard-driving chorus – from 1995’s Astro-Creep: 2000. “Living Dead Girl,” from Rob Zombie’s 1998 solo debut Hellbilly Deluxe, and “I Believe in a Thing Called Love” from British rockers The Darkness round out next week’s killer selection of rock n’ roll perfect for any Halloween Rock Band celebration! As always, songs available as downloadable content for Rock Band 3 feature five-button guitar and bass parts, drums, Pro Drums, and keys, Pro Keys and harmonies, where applicable. Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Boo to the Zombie songs not being bundled. I get that one of them's a solo record, but C'mon.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Not bad. Type 'O is never gonna happen is it?
|
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
'Bout time they added I Believe in a Thing Called Love. In for that and Living Dead Girl.
