I'll second it. Still haven't finished it but pretty good story line and the ability to destroy, smash and blowup stuff is way to much fun. I think the demo may still be up and it's pretty cool byitself.

Only downside is...no co-op.

The new one slated for next year is rumored to have coop.

Got Transformers War for Cybertron today and it's reminding me a lot of playing Halo.

scott1598 - did you try out ODST? FEAR? Chronicles of Riddick (namely Escape from Butcher Bay)? Bad Company 2?
i've played a bit of ODST. had the same feeling of others, but took a break since i went through the first 3 in a row. Have Riddick, but yet to play, really liked the demo for Athena, but got it more for Butcher Bay. was looking for more openess and less isolation which Riddick and others are, and though BioShock is as well, want to stick with it due to all the great reviews and love for it.

If anything, The Transformers demo reminded me of a 3rd-person Unreal Tournament game.

Hmmm, good point.

Because every time I spawned and moved 2 feet from the spawn point, some fucker who had been playing for 8hours straight and knew all the angles would kill me.

And you wonder why we sometimes quote things to make sure you've read them days after initially posted?

Re: Similar games to Borderlands and Halo's?

i know it was mentioned a couple times, but no specifics...

how does F.E.A.R. and F.E.A.R. 2 fit my original post criteria?

i played a bit of the 2 demo from xbl, as that is the only one still up, and liked it, but couldn't even get past first armored soldier. i mean taking my love for horror and new fondness for FPS, this seems like a safe bet and can be had for good price.

the controls and scheme seemed very Halo-ish...

Don't know if you have a PS3, but Resistance 2 would be a good fit. Lots of dudes with aggressive AI and 8-PLAYER COOP.
