Re: inFAMOUS 2 (PS3) - 2011
They patched in the UGC (user-generated content) features on Friday. That feature really adds a lot to the game. I played around with the creation tools and I was able to make a very simple mission within minutes. I do wish that they had a few guided tutorials to explain the more advanced capabilities of the system. Still, it'll definitely give the game some legs beyond the standard story campaign.

Re: inFAMOUS 2 (PS3) - 2011
I've now played this through twice (same as the last game, there is a "hero" and a "villain" ending), and it was enjoyable both times. If you just play all of the story missions, the game clocks in around 5-10 hours; the side missions and shard collecting take up another 10 - and that doesn't count the UGC content.
The only suck point right now is that I can't get the 25-UGC trophy activated, even though I've played nearly 30-40 of those - which in turn, means, I can't get the Platinum trophy.
As far as the trophies go:

Played some last night. I like it. The controls feel a bit tighter than #1... Cole has some serious angst!

Um... did anyone else lose all their trophies from the 1st game?
I just loaded up part 2 and was given no import option. Went to check my infamous trophies and they're all gone! I don't know if this is tied to downloading the digital version and trying that out but I had the game 85% complete, found all shards, all stunts, did a complete good guy run, still have my save, but all the trophies I had earned are gone.
Sheesh.
nm: they're back now after resyncing. let's see if it'll let me import now. that was quite a scare.

Got a review copy today. Enjoying it so far. Like that it gave me perks for finishing the first game.
I don't like the new voice actor for Cole, though. Strike that, as I play more I actually prefer him. He's more relatable than the first voice actor.
I just got a trophy for climbing a chain link fence. The description said "Climb a chain link fence and rejoice!"

The titles on the movie marquees are nods to other big games. One is "Uncharted Love" and another was "Solid Serpent: The Man, The Movie."
Other titles I've found: Hush, Assassin's Need (Love Too), Hey Low Reach, Little Big Unit, No Need For Speed, Latch It And Skank, Epic Hickey, and Sly!

Re: inFAMOUS 2 (PS3) - 2011
I loved what I played at a preview event a couple of weeks ago, so I picked it up the other day and started it yesterday morning. Really good game from what I've played thus far, though there are a few bugs when it comes to the UGC stuff. Regardless of that, it's still a good addition that adds a ton of replayability to the game.
I'm always a good guy in these types of games, so I'm trying to complete as many of the crime side missions as possible. Plus, I've been doing a lot of the side/UGC missions too. I'm about 13% in thus far and plan to play it more tonight.

How many missions are there? I've been playing at least 6 hours and I've only found 2 of those power shards.

I am just now playing the first one because I got it free....I am about 75% done and enjoying the hell out of it...and I am sure the collectors set will drop by the time I get around picking up 2 so that is a plus....
questions..
Do enemies still have laser like vision when they spot you? It is frustrating having some asshole snipe you from 600 yards and you can't reach him, and no matter where you go or how far you move...ever 2 seconds you get hit...over and over and over...not that the game is hard, in fact it is really easy, but I find this annoying ...
Also, is there more variety in the side missions? Most games of this type suffer from this, but I was just curious...
Thanks...

^^ Yes, yes they do. It was my #1 pet peeve from the first game and they carried it over to the second.

The only criticism so far that I have is that it kind of sucks that you need to unlock his power by performing certain task along with the usual XP points.

Finishing the first one, I bought it when it was released... and somehow stopped playing around 60% completed of the first island.
I only have two more main missions and I'm done.
I will probably wait for Infamous 2 to become a Greatest Hits title, or if it's available for $30.

Re: inFAMOUS 2 (PS3) - 2011
I just finished it this morning. Really impressed by it.
I'll probably go back through to get the evil karma/ending sometime this summer. But, I went good this first time though. Like with almost all games.

Just finished. Really enjoyed it. Think I only missed one dead drop.
Finished the good ending as well and will also go back later and play the other side. However, based on my playthrough I have no idea

I finished it yesterday, good playthrough. It was fun, but more of the same as the first game. And the story wasn't as good as the developers thought it was.

I"m getting near the end and damn if I can't find all the side missions or pigeons. I have no desire to get 100% but I'd like to get most of power upgrades before the last boss.

Finished the good playthrough last night. They improved on a lot from the first game - more varied environments, powers/elements that made getting around much easier (especially with scaling buildings). But the story and dialogue were a huge step down. It would have been nice to get the lightning tether earlier in the game as well. Anyway, I managed to find all the blast shards before beating it, but I missed a dead drop. Seems like there's no easy way to find those on the map.
Some of the side missions require you to enter an area outlined in red and take out a group of enemies. One of the downed enemies will glow yellow and will either have a picture to find a case of blast shards or will receive a radio call with a convoy location.

Just wrapped it up last night. Outside of a couple glitches I totally loved it. It'll be interesting how they handle part 3..

I just finished it too, and while I really liked it overall, for an open-world/sandbox game, it felt a little short to me, like a lot of the city was left unexplored.

Re: inFAMOUS 2 (PS3) - 2011
Finally started playing this last night. Got about two hours in so far story isn't really grabbing me. The human villain comes off really cheesy. I do like the city a lot more than the first. The first ones city had the most boring depiction of a city but this one has more life to it. One thing that always bugged me about the first was no interior levels. Is there any indoor areas in this one?

While I couldn't really care less about the story, Infamous 2 is easily my favorite game that I've played all year. The story's no great shakes, but the characters are pretty solid. I didn't hate Zeke!
