Where is the Buy The $99 Move Bundle And Get A $25 Gift Card Deal from K-mart published? My local K-mart has no idea what the Move is or when it's coming. The only $25 gift card promo in their weekly advertisement is for Halo: Reach. They had no promotional stuff displayed in their store. Neither did my local Best Buy or Toys R Us. BB said if it were being released this week, they'd know about it. The clerk said he thought it's being released after The Kinect. The TRU manager confirmed the 17th is the release date, but the clerks in electronics knew nothing about it. If it really is hitting store shelves on Friday, they've done a lousy job promoting it.

If it's in their computer system and prints when you buy the eligible products like they say, they really shouldn't have to educate anyone about it.

I had no interest in this until I saw recently that they will release an HD version of Dead Space: Extraction for use with The Move. But I can wait until the Move hits the clearance rack. My Wii still just sits there collecting dust. :(

Not only is that coming out, it'll be a free exclusive with Dead Space 2 next year. Also Metal of Honor is being released with a Move-enabled HD version of the original game included as well. Both are PS3 exclusive bonuses. Some major dealing going on behind the scenes between Sony and EA apparently.

I may just sell my Wii and pick up the Move controllers/bundle. The other option is to sell my Wii and 60GB PS3 and just get a new PS3 system move bundle. I haven't touched my Wii in a while, and I probably could get decent money for the package.

They should educate them for customer service reasons, as well as promoting sales, but it's Kmart, so yeah, we're lucky that the coupons automatically print out and they don't even have to push any extra buttons or anything.

Seriously, so many great game deals at Kmart lately, but you wouldn't know it if you just walked into the store.

Re: Playstation Move Thread

Kmart's not the only one in the dark: my Target, Toys R Us and Best Buy all had no idea when the Move is coming out, nor did they have any promotional stuff in their stores. Today I went to Gamestop, and finally, I saw promotional signs from Sony advertising 9/17 as the release date.

I don't know if the Move will fail, but I thought $100 was reasonable for a game, controller and camera. Wouldn't these add up to more than $100 if bought separately?

Has anyone read if there's a minimum distance one has to be from the camera or screen?

I think if it included the subcontroller, nobody would have a problem with the pricing. While you can use the DS3 instead, it's really awkward. Taking on that extra $30 is pretty crappy -- I wish it were $15-20 instead.

IGN's Playstation Move Second Opinions

Pretty amazing. Nine different people all saying pretty much exactly the same thing : The Move is great technology and works great, but the launch games are really lacking and it's just untapped potential at this time. Also strangely enough, nobody at IGN likes Tumble, but I've seen a lot of other reviews for the game and they're all positive.

That sounds remarkably like the Wii.

If the Wii tracked accurately. And lacked the four or five must-own games it has in its library.

It was also 4 years ago before we knew any better. I'd expect the technology to have improved in that time. It will be telling if the software can support Move. I hope so, because I think the idea is sound.

Yes, the camera and game retail for $39.99, and the Move controller is $49.99 so the bundle saves you $29.98 over the individual purchases. This is fine if you want Sports Champions or don't already own the PS3 Eye camera. Even though Sony says the navigation controller isn't necessary, like Decker says using the Dualshock 3 one handed is awkward so figure you'll tack on $29.99 to whatever you buy.

Re: Playstation Move Thread

you'll want a second move controller too since a few of the games on sports champions are awful without them. it's no fun playing the gladiator duel and trying to control your shield and weapon with a single controller. and archery is much more fun with two controllers instead of one. i didn't try volleyball which apparently also can use two wand things. so that brings the cost to $150 not including any of the navigation wands which you'll want to pick up since holding and trying to control the dual shock with one hand is very frustrating.

Wait, so you recommend two wands? And this is for one person?

Correct...some games you will "want" two wands. Apparently for like the boxing game, it tracks both hands.

So, if you want 2 people to play. You are probably looking at 4 wands and 2 nav controllers

Decker 09-15-10 11:16 AM

Re: Playstation Move Thread

For Sports Champions or the upcoming boxing game The Fight, two controllers are ideal. For most other games, one should be enough.

Quick question about pricematching at Best Buy if anyone knows. It doesn't look like Kmart has the deal listed in their ad, it's simply in their computer. Does Best Buy pricematch a receipt? Or do you have to have the ad?

This will be very difficult.

1) Best Buy doesn't like to pricematch deals with gift cards/coupons, even though their terms say they will.
2) The receipt will show the full price, but the Kmart register will spew out a coupon. Good luck convincing Best Buy that the coupon is tied to the purchase.
3) If the Best Buy guy decides to call Kmart, chances are the Kmart employee that picks up won't know about the deal.
4) If you're going to go all the way to Kmart anyway, why not just keep that one? Unless you really need BB credit. I know it's Kmart, but they are having a ton of videogame-related deals coming up.

Normally I would. Only issue is I have $70 in BB credit that expires at the end of this week. Figured two birds one stone.

Okay...I wasn't going to buy into the Move this early...but I have a plan...

$99 Move Bundle -$20 gaming coupon I have currently = $79.99 bundle + $25 Coupon.

Then go back through on a second transaction: $29.99 Nav controller - $25 Coupon = 4.99 Nav controller + another $10 Coupon.

Awesome. I really love these gaming coupons K-Mart has.

tlwizard 09-15-10 03:55 PM

Re: Playstation Move Thread

Nav controller only gets you $10. And the coupons are only redeemable starting the next week (after the bonus coupon deal is over).

At least pick up RE5 Gold at Best Buy this week. It's Move-enabled and on sale for $29.99 this week.
