I looked at the box yesterday, but couldn't bring myself to buy it (yet). I noticed on the box it shows compatibility with Killzone 3, SOCOM 4, Time Crisis Razing Storm, and Dead Space Extraction. I would assume though it should work with any light gun shooter (ie. The Shoot just not having to use the Nav).

Re: Playstation Move Thread
I just picked up the gun, hopefully Amazon delivers Killzone 3 today. If not, I still want to try it with the Cabella's Dangerous Hunt game because I hated the light gun that came with that.

Re: Playstation Move Thread
Why not try it with the KZ3 SP demo now? That is Move-compatible.

Edit: Killzone came in, no digital dear have been harmed. I've never played a Killzone game and only got it because I want to something to use the gun with (I'm a sucker for peripherals). I've played for an hour and all I've done is watch a bunch of scenes that I don't care about, drunkenly walk around, shoot a few targets and make my left arm hurt. With that said i see potential, its the best gun I've ever seen and once you get it properly calibrated the aimming is accurate. |
Re: Playstation Move Thread
The official Playstation magazine had an early review for Killzone 3 where they said that using the Move actually increased accuracy (and this was without the peripheral gun). Is this true? While they aren't usually all that biased, I am wary of these early reviews because 99% of the time they seem overly praising (and Killzone 3 did get a 10)
Amazon did the opposite and delayed my Sharp Shooter, so I was actually thinking about canceling it. |
Re: Playstation Move Thread
It can feel really accurate in aiming, but I'm not sure it's more accurate than a DS3, and of course any increased accuracy is more than offset but the inaccuracy in movement. It's certainly functional for playing KZ3 with the Sharp Shooter -- but you have to go in realizing you're after the arcade-like feel of the peripheral, not to get the best way to play the game.

Re: Playstation Move Thread
I'm looking at getting the move and KZ3, however I'm not sure what move components I need. I know I need the camera/motion controller, however is the Navigation controller required as well? or does that depend on the game?
|
Re: Playstation Move Thread
The Navigation controller is required, you need it to move around.

Re: Playstation Move Thread
I believe you can use the Dual Shock 3 in one hand instead. Although, that's pretty awkward and I think you'd have enough of that before too long.

Re: Playstation Move Thread
For those of you interested in all this stuff but currently owning nothing but a PS3, there will be a SOCOM 4 LE Bundle:
http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/6978/socom4u.jpg Details: Release: 4/19/2011 Price: $149.99 Includes: * SOCOM 4: U.S. Navy SEALs video game on Blu-ray disc * PlayStation Move Motion Controller * PlayStation Move Navigation Controller * PlayStation Move sharp shooter * PlayStation Eye Camera _________________________________ That's a pretty good deal, since the game alone is $60. For the other $90 you get everything you need (essentially the Move, Nav and camera for $50, since the Sharp Shooter is $40). The only caveat is that SOCOM 3 was awful. I might wait for some SOCOM reviews before I bought this, but it's worth considering at that price. |

Plus, it took me forever to figure out where they put the grenade button... :) I'm sure it works much better on a rail shooter like Time Crisis, which I'll try next. The peripheral is pretty well made, though I'm still not sure it's worth the cost. |
Re: Playstation Move Thread
I get the feeling from the "official PS3 thread' that the move fad came and went rather quickly. I just picked up the Tiger Woods 12 Move Bundle last month so I'm a little late to the party... but I'm really liking it so far. I've also been playing a lot of Dead Space Extraction recently. I could barely drag myself to finish the first level with the regular controller, but it's a hundred times better with the move controller. So much so that I picked up the sharpshooter to go with it. I think it's a pretty awesome addition to the Dead Space lineup now. Are there any other games where the move controller actually makes the game better?

Re: Playstation Move Thread
Just an FYI for those interested, Kmart has the Move bundle games (tiger woods and sports champions) on sale this week for $50. Even if you are just getting it to sell off tiger woods, it is a really good deal.

Re: Playstation Move Thread
I like shooting with the sharpshooter, but for the life of me I cant get used to having to point off the screen to look around.

Re: Playstation Move Thread
isnt that used for moving/strafing? I only tried it for 30 minutes or so, so I very well may have missed a configuration option...
|
Re: Playstation Move Thread
Yes, but I tend to look around by strafing. I guess you get used to it -- you just have to be careful to keep your movements small, otherwise you spin around and around.

Re: Playstation Move Thread
Wow, old thread bump!
Anyway, when I first heard about the new Move Racing Wheel peripheral, I was less than thrilled. I'm a big fan of the Sharpshooter (it's hugely popular at Parties for light-gun games), but this seemed like an unnecessary Wii-like add on. It certainly looks awkward, inelegant and rather unsightly. This new video has really changed my mind. It looks very thoughtfully designed and probably is way better than that heavy Microsoft Speed Wheel peripheral I bought last Fall. (Though like that peripheral, this one is called a "wheel" without actually being one). <iframe width="640" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/e3mtQrcACS0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> For only $40, I think I'm in. I can't wait to play some Motorstorm with this one. |

Re: Playstation Move Thread
Wonderbook actually looks a lot cooler than it did at E3. Don't know if my 11 year old daughter is too old for it now, but she would have loved it a couple of years ago.

Re: Playstation Move Thread
So is any of the move stuff worth picking up at this point? I'm pretty much past using it for any of the PS3 stuff, but if I remember correctly, everything but the camera will work with the PS4? The reason I ask, is Best Buy is practically giving this shit away now. So I was thinking about picking up some of the pieces for use with the PS4. If you go under the clearance section on their website, it should show if any of your local stores carry them. My store has the Navigation Controller for $4.99, the Move Motion Controller for $9.99, and the Move Essentials Pack for $16.99. Just trying to get some feedback if it's even worth it or not.

Re: Playstation Move Thread
Wow! $5 for Navi, $10 for a Move? That's pretty good deal. RE Umbrella Chronicles was free for PS+ so it's a fairly fun Move game. The Wonderbook is actually not a bad game for $10.
