Yeah, this basically said to take a stick out of my ass which constitutes a personal attack. Wink or no wink, that was uncalled for.

Hey, congrats. Being a long-time member of the evil medical establishment I'm always a little nervous about home births. Glad and relieved everything went well.

Congrats L&O!!
Being the father to 2 girls and now a boy, you just have to make sure you wipe in the proper direction with girls. At least that's what my wife has drilled into my head for the past 4 years.

You had a home birth L&O? We just had a home birth back in January. My wife loved it (well, most of it). It was by far our best birth experience.

When healthy women give birth, it's a natural thing. Shit, we've been doing it for hundreds of thousands of years without forceps or vacuums...why did we need to start now?
Yeah, the home birth went amazingly well and I think Mom & Baby were better off without any intervention. Our midwife is a Naturpathic Dr as well, so it wasn't as if she was asking me to boil water and get towels (even though, I did do that to help get the tub warmer).
On gaming however...I did manage to play some Shitty Ass Iron Man 2 and write up a review for Beat City (DS).

Sucks when a review has to be done when I have something like Red Dead taunting my ass from the desk. It's like, "Hey, you have an hour - put me in...who's gonna know?" Yet, I'm stuck flying around as fucking Iron Man taking out motherfucking Protean in a game that has some of the most anti-fucking-climatic action scenes I've ever played. I blame www.GamerswithCasts.com for that one

I found it nearly impossible to game on a big screen for quite a while. I was mostly playing The Creeps for about a month after the baby was born (though I probably would have played that game anyway). Then I learned that I could hold the baby with a 360 controller in my hand and Oblivion became my addiction. Word of advice to anyone playing a game with a sleeping baby: turn vibration off.

Good to hear it went well. Here, homebirths are a sort of "grey area," so you don't shout about it. Our midwife is direct entry and a paramedic. She brings oxygen and pitocin in case there is too much bleeding. We are also 10 min from the hospital so if anything went very wrong, we would have gone there.

I'd imagine that playing Mario Galaxy with a sleeping kid would be tough though. In Portland, we basically could walk down the street with a sign that said "We're looking for a midwife" and would have about 350 well qualified applicants within 20 minutes.

Re: The state of the forum...(kudos)
I actually started gaming more after my daughter was born last June. In the first few months she didn't nap long enough for me to get any work done so I fired up the PS3. And now on the days I stay home with her to "work from home," I use her morning nap as game time.
This replaced a lot of movie watching time. If I put in a movie I'd just fall asleep.

We are contemplating moving across the river to Iowa just because they are a lot less Big Brotherish when it comes to things like this. The funny thing about playing w/ a sleeping baby is that I always played with the sound way down or off. I have almost no idea what the music sounds like in Oblivion despite having 175 hours logged.

It was just a very bad joke because he really started this thread to tell us about his new kid, not to give kudos.
