i wasn't really waiting for a beta. i just had some preorder credit at gamestop on something that i got somewhere else now (SM Galaxy 2 from Amazon) so I figured I'd move it to starcraft. thanks though.

so installed the beta 2 days ago, but have yet to play it. so i go to turn on my computer today and all the text is fuzzy as shit. on websites, on desktop icons, everywhere. i checked my settings and nothing has changed with my resolution or the text dpi. any thoughts?

Well I got the beta today from a friend and man I suck at this game big time. I played a few rounds and I get my ass kicked.

Went with Zerg, i would play them basically 99% of the time and nothing but, i adored their quantity>quality approach so much, wasting many many lives but winning in the end and then coolly thinking "poor zerg but what can one do?" Although the Protoss had the most potential from the mind control so you can technically control all 3 races, probably the single greatest ability from the entire game for that reason alone although when i used to play on bnet people were too overlyambitious with that ability by focusing on building two races but not teching their main race enough so they had many buildings that were simply cut through by more concentrated forces. I wonder if that ability is still in here. I also loved the zerg nydus canal where you could pop up forces right in the enemy base.

Your post prompted me to take advantage of my Prime trial before it was up, so I pre-ordered the standard edition for free release day shipping! Amazon kind of saved me from myself since the Collectors Edition seems to be sold out, and I was looking at that. Upon reflection though, I know the original Starcraft is floating around my house somewhere, and I have no use for the rest of it all anyway!

Can't freakin' wait!

Broke down and pre-ordered this from Best Buy today. Had a $5 reward zone GC and a $25 GC from Father's Day to use so I got it for $30. Plus, it gives you 500 RZ points, so I'll be getting another $10 GC from that. Not too shabby. Now I just need to find time to actually play it.

Nothing, but if you don't know what the gameplay for Starcraft looks like by now, you're probably not very interested I don't think a trailer showing drones collecting minerals would be particularly enticing.

That said, a lot of that footage is with the in-game engine used between missions, and not just pre-rendered cutscenes.

I always liked the Protoss. The original was huge back when I was living in the dorms in college. It was very common to walk on to a guy's floor and hear people shouting directions to others from their rooms.
