Re: MLB TV on PS3
This blows. I'm trying to watch the rest of the Red game and it won't let me. When I select which feed I want to watch, it tells me that it can't determine where I am and that I need to update my MLB.com Wallet information. I did that and still can't watch the game.

Re: MLB TV on PS3
I downloaded the program, but I still can't get it to update so I can try it out before the weekend is over. I don't know why PSN has such connection issues - I can attempt signing in to PSN, and it will almost always give me a connection error of some kind, yet I can promptly sign in to Netflix and begin streaming. If I quit that and attempt to sign in to PSN, I usually get another connection error. Argh, so frustrating...
EDIT: This has been an ongoing issue, not just this weekend.

I guess it's possible, but I don't understand why that would be, given that my PC's, Mac, laptop, 360 and Netflix on the PS3 all connect flawlessly, while PSN is nothing but a headache.

I went to try it out Saturday afternoon and several games were blacked out, I guess since Fox held the national TV rights? They weren't local games.

"Due to Major League Baseball exclusivities, live games occurring each Saturday with a scheduled start time after 1:10 PM ET or before 7:05 PM ET and each Sunday with a scheduled start time after 5:00 PM ET, will be blacked out in the United States"

I tried on Saturday and was able to check a few games, except the Giants that was blacked out as expected. Really good quality, it's not 1080p, but it's better than 480p. A little stuttering here and there but nothing really major. If I was a baseball fan I would pay for a sub.

Cool to check this out over the weekend. watched all the Yankees games, went back and watched Strasberg's debut (impressive) and the last couple of innings of the perfect game that wasn't. Good quality.

Re: MLB TV on PS3
Thanks excom101. So i'll assume the PS3 connects to my computer via an ethernet connection and then from the PS3 to the HDTV via an HDMI cable? My HDTV does not have an internet connection so would an ethernet splitter work from my computer to the PS3?

The only reason I can think of for connecting your PS3 to your computer is if you were transferring files (like music or videos) with FTP.

Re: MLB TV on PS3
I'm not sure what you're talking about. MLB.TV is viewed through an app on the PS3, whereas on a computer it's through a web browser. You don't need one of these devices to use MLB.TV.

I am looking for the best way to get MLB.TV from my computer to my HDTV, Drexl. My TV does not have an internet connection.

So, I guess you need a router then. Your internet connection goes to the router, then you have ethernet cables going from that to both the PS3 and computer.

So its going to cost me like $300 just to get to the point of getting MLB.TV to my HDTV. Thats before the subscription fee. $250 for the PS3 and another $50 or so for the router.

Fuck, this thread took an odd turn. I was hoping to find out MLB tv was going to be free with The Show 12 or something like that.

Would an HDMI cable from your computer to your TV be an option? If your video card has HDMI out, it may be worth considering if they're situated in a way that allows it.

Re: MLB TV on PS3
No HDMI port on my computer. Will be trying a VGA-HDMI converter box and run that to the HDTV. VGA connects my monitor to the computer.
