I achieved Ghost Pro yesterday. It took dozens of matches to actually find a Sentry gun to destory. With our team losing 7300 - whatever, I spotted a sentry gun across the map and blasted it with my rocket launcher. I literally took it out 1/2 second before the match ended!
I decided to prestige for the first time the other day and I'm really missing my AK47. Once I get to 50 I'm staying there this time around. |

^^ The quotes from those jackasses makes me nervous for our future. Funny stuff outside of that though.

I'm staying at 50 as well... especially with the new map packs out next week. I miss my Commando and I'm still 10 levels away from getting it back.

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops (11/9/10)
I'm not going to prestige at all, it's taken me so long to get all my perks to Pro that I wouldn't know how to play anymore.

Also, this weekend will be a double XP weekend for those looking to level up. |

It would be nice if after you've prestiged you were able to keep one weapon and pro-perk that you really like. If I could keep my AK47 or Commando I'd probably prestige a few more times.

Zombie Map: Ascension
Damn you Activision! Looks like I'm dropping the 1200 for one map again. |

Anyone play the new MP maps yet? What do you think?
|
Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops (11/9/10)
Well I havent played the zombie map yet Played two of the maps, Stadium and the arctic Base and really like the stadium map. Great layout.
|
Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops (11/9/10)
I think the Stadium map will be the favorite. Kowloon is fun, but the ziplines seem pointless.
One aspect about COD that I love over Battlefield, is the locations seem real. All the buildings in BF are generic and empty. But the COD buildings have character and actually feel lived in. |

Seems like a good place to camp for the next couple days is right at the bottom of these since people will want to try out the zip lines for the first time. |

90% of the fun of the zip lines in single player is being able to shoot while you use them. But now, you're defenseless so I agree.

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops (11/9/10)
My son and I share an Xbox, but we each have our own accounts. He bought the new map pack on his account yesterday. I am very underwhelmed with the maps, but I'm being forced to at the minimum cycle through them. Is there any way I can opt out of playing this map pack?
|
Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops (11/9/10)
Only work around I can think of is to get in a party with somebody who doesn't have the dlc.
|
Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops (11/9/10)
I'm probably the lone Zombie lover here, but the new map is incredible. I'm not too sure about the new perks yet, but the gravity/black hole grenade is cool though.

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops (11/9/10)
I have never played the zombie mode before and popped into it over the weekend by myself and didn't really understand any of it. All these things kept telling me to turn on the electricity but I couldn't figure out how/where.
So I would love for someone with which to play a couple games of the zombie mode and explain what in the world I should be doing. |
Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops (11/9/10)
Yeah, my zombie game sessions are over far too quick, before they get fun I suppose.
|
Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops (11/9/10)
This game is my first experience with Zombie mode, and all I've figured out is you need good strategy and cooperative teammates to accomplish anything.
|
Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops (11/9/10)
Well you can go zombie mode solo, but you gotta know what you're doing as it's pretty difficult. It really takes 4 people for maximum fun. If you are playing with people, you HAVE to have teammates who are part of a team, will watch your back and don't go running around solo. If you have one loose cannon, you're fucked.
Also if you haven't managed to make it far enough to turn the power on, open everything, buy perks, and upgrade weapons, etc. you really haven't made it that far. Lastly, all it is is a survival/horde mode. There is no end, it's just a "we're trying to make it further than we did last time" mentality, so if that isn't your type of thing, you won't enjoy it. Also, you gotta be comfortable on "window duty" if you have a shitty weapon. It can be boring, but it's still a critical position. We managed level 22 last night which is pretty solid for the first night. I think the furthest we've made it on any map is around 33. I'm going to be on tonight with a couple friends, but if we need a fourth I'll shoot whomever is on an invite. |
Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops (11/9/10)
I wish they had a separate lobby for just the new maps. Every time I join a game, it's an old map.
I really prefer the way they handled the maps in MW2. Just the new maps with random modes. It made me try some different games I hadn't played before. |
Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops (11/9/10)
Yeah, the zombie mode could really benefit from some sort of tutorial or something. It just sort of dumps you in there and starts throwing things at you "turn on the power!" "open doors!" etc. And if you go online with anything less than perfect play be prepared to hear things that would Mel Gibson blush.
