Tatsunoko VS Capcom

I have the Wii version. Can someone please tell me how you are supposed to switch characters in the battle? I can't find any instructions to do so. It sometimes randomly happened, but I'm not sure what I pushed...

Been playing it. Lot's of fun. What controller are you using? I'm using a Wave Bird. Also, you can only switch characters when standing still.

I haven't been playing this. I'm waiting on Ubisoft vs. Capcom and Nintendo vs. Capcom.

Re: Tatsunoko VS Capcom

I'm using the classic controller for now. Still getting used to everything. Controls are quite different from the Street Fighter II days. Like, how there aren't separate punch or kick buttons.

I wonder if we'll ever get another BIG Capcom v.s. release.

Re: Tatsunoko VS Capcom

I couldn't believe it when they announced a US release, and I'm even more astonished now that there are running so many commercials for it. The claymation commercial itself is questionable, but they're actually promoting it, which is odd considering how eclectic the collections of characters are. I guess they're expecting pretty good sales? And I guess they got a pretty good deal on licensing from Tatsunoko and their domestic partners? I would kill for the licensing to be worked out on a Super Robot Wars (non OG) game.

It was also the first 5/5 review of the year on Xplay (there have since been others)... which is pretty astonishing considering it's a fighter on the Wii.

My Wii is still boxed up, but when I have some time I'm hooking it up just to play this game...

It does look great. Even the characters that I don't know look really cool, which is half the battle when it comes to fighting games. This is on the list of games to check out when I do get a Wii.

Re: Tatsunoko VS Capcom

Frys had it on sale for $40, so I had to get it right away.

Good stuff - if you like any Capcom vs fighter, you'll love this. It's actually not as over the top as Marvel v. C, but it has it's own quirkiness. The game's loaded with modes and extras, and the online isn't too bad, considering it's on the Wii.

My only minor quibble is that while I understand why they went with polygonal characters, I would've rather they went with well-animated/rendered sprites instead.

Re: Tatsunoko VS Capcom

I wish they had used normal fighter controls. 3 punches and 3 kicks is pretty much the standard for Capcom games.

Re: Tatsunoko VS Capcom

I've been playing the Japanese Import (which came out last year) on and off since I got it.

The U.S version is drastically different (Character Balances, New Characters, Etc.). Wondering if I should drop another $50 to pick it up again.

The Japanese disc is pretty cheap for "Ultimate Allstars", being a rerelease title. I got it for about $35 or so.

I remember years ago buying every single Street Fighter II release for SNES....

Re: Tatsunoko VS Capcom

I finally hooked up my Wii (after a few months of it being left in a case after my move) just to play this game. I also jumped right in and couldn't for the life of me figure out how to switch characters, so thanks to the OP.

But curse you, Capcom for coming out with a good exclusive fighter on the Wii... I already have sticks for the PS3 and 360 and now I had to pick up the Tatsunoko vs. Capcom one for the Wii. Also, curse Madcatz, who finally learned how to make quality peripherals.

Got past Lightan just mashing buttons, but then got my butt kicked, so I guess it's time to read up on how to play...

Yeah, no kidding. That little tid-bit isn't even mentioned in the instruction book.

The Arcade Board/Hardware for TvC was based off of the Wii Board, so it would've been hard to port correctly.

Luckily Joybox put out a great input lag-free PS2--->Gamecube converters, so I was able to use all of my PS2 sticks on the Wii

So tempted to re-buy this, even though SSFIV is 2 months away. The JPN version of this game is fun, but the US version is a completely new beast with all of re-balances, new characters, etc.

Re: Tatsunoko VS Capcom

The Tatsunoko vs. Capcom stick is actually pretty cool... but I wish that the different consoles could play nice so that I could have just two sticks that would work on all three... I have more fightsticks than I do plastic instruments now.
