It was funny at the end of the one on Villa. I don't know if you guys could hear us. The new guy (forgot his name) asks me if we are the only two left. I respond yeah but you've got this won, I got one life left. He says you could kill me 3 times and beat me. I say OK, yeah you're right (after I check the score board). I ask him where he is hiding and he challenges me to a knife fight at the fountain. I head there and find him and stab him (1st kill). He then says "wait, did you stab me beacause you were out of bullets or because you thought I was serious about the knife fight" I told him "Good question. You're about to find out" and I shot him(2nd kill). Then I told him I'd make it fair and I emptied my gun and met him at the fountain and killed him a third time. Good times.
Killing Mike Myers was fun too. Missed Slider's antics so I made sure to dolphin dive with claymores a couple of times and stabbed it up in one of the gun games.
we could hear you guys, we were all laughing.

I missed the games last week. I'll have my new PS3 tomorrow so I'll definitely be on for Warhawk, CoD, and Wookie this week. I think I'm having withdrawals.

@ Slider - are you gonna fix the old one and do a direct transfer?

BTW guys I'd like to get a night of MW2 on an off night before the new map packs hit on March 3rd - just for old times sake. Maybe the last week in February sometime between Friday the 25th and Wednesday March 2nd would be a good time. I'd still like to jump in it once a month - Something like the last week of the month on an nonCoD/Warhawk night. What night would be good for everyone as a group?

I probably won't fix it. There's a guy on Craigslist who will pay $100 for broken 80gig systems. I wish I knew how to wipe the hard drive first though. The system won't work at all now and my Black Ops is stuck in there.

You sure there isn't someone local who can fix it (especially to get Black Ops out ) ? - you could fix it do a system transfer - wipe it, and probably trade it in to gamestop for game credit - I'd tell ya to ship it to me -but the shipping would be enormous for that heavyweight console.

There is some place called techclinic that claims to fix for $70 in roseville MI and dearborn (soon)

There is also a place called games galore in Taylor and Waterford that repairs for $60. Same day repair apparently - 1hr time

re: Weekly Thursday Call of Duty Night (PS3)

Thanks, Cruz. It's a tough decision. I have a new PS3 sitting here from Target that I bought for $300. I got a $50 gift card which effectively brings the price down to $250. The guy who is buying the broken system says I can swing buy later in the week to pick up my Black Ops, so that's another $100 off the price. So I can either pay $150 for a new slim, or pay $60 to get my fat system repaired. The $60 repair sounds good, but I just wonder if it is worth the gamble that it might break again in six months to a year to save $90.

Sorry didn't mean to make it more difficult for you. I was just trying give you an option. $150 total for a new slim is a good way to go. I'd ask the dude about wiping the sytem when he repairs it and if you could possibly do a system transfer when you pick up BO.

Don't bother fixing the fat PS3 unless you plan to keep it as a backup. I fixed mine after the red light killed it and it broke again a couple months later. Too risky.

Hey, no worries. I actually really appreciate it. I don't have a lot of money right now, so the more I can save the better.

That's what I'm hearing a lot of, but I've also heard people say that they've got theirs fixed over a year ago and it's still going strong. I may just flip a coin...

If you don't want to fix it, and, you have a 2.5" HDD enclosure, you could remove the HDD from the 80gig, connect it to your PC and re-format. Then when the guy boots it up to start it would just treat it as a fresh PS3.

Don't have an enclosure. Couldn't I just plug it into my new system and format the drive that way if I decide to keep it?

Origami and his sister, almost all of the kids in fact, are sick and out for tonight. I'm feeling under the weather but at work. Not sure if I'll be around.

I wasn't going to dignify it with a reply , but, I will say that I bet Origami would stay up and play if his Mom would let him. As for me, you can call me soft all you want, I'm ok with that .
