Re: MLB '10: The Show (PS3, PS2, PSP) - March 2nd
OK I was called up to the majors in May, and wound up being the every day SS for the White Sox. Finished with a .311 avg, 16 HR and 71 RBI. I was at the top of the list for Rookie of the Year.
I start the new season - I'm a bench pinch runner. What?!? |
Re: MLB '10: The Show (PS3, PS2, PSP) - March 2nd

Re: MLB '10: The Show (PS3, PS2, PSP) - March 2nd
Everything is right with me and I'm still interested in joining
|
Re: MLB '10: The Show (PS3, PS2, PSP) - March 2nd
I'm in. I'm ZacharyTF.
I saved a replay of my guy turning a double play where he was at least 6 feet off the bag and the play was still allowed. Another time, I fielded a ground ball about 5 feet from 2nd base, flipped it to the second baseman and the runner slid into me instead of him. Weird. |
Re: MLB '10: The Show (PS3, PS2, PSP) - March 2nd
I'm still good-to-go. I agree about keeping the first one short-ish; we can always do more!

Re: MLB '10: The Show (PS3, PS2, PSP) - March 2nd
Can you please change my team to the Angels? Unless nickdawgy is planning on joining, then I will pick someone else.

Should we have a separate thread for the league.

Re: MLB '10: The Show (PS3, PS2, PSP) - March 2nd
I hope they can fix the bad trade/FA logic. I just started the second season in RTTS, and the Cardinals got rid of Pujols at some point. Although, they've sort of made up for it by signing Joe Mauer (for 4 years at $47M - seem fair?), Jose Reyes, and Adam Dunn. They still have Yadier Molina, BTW.
I think next year, they should add an attribute called "importance" or something like that, that would affect the likelihood of the player getting traded or being allowed to leave. Players who are untouchable would be at 100, which would completely prevent them from being traded. This is a regular attribute you could build up with training points in RTTS, which would help stop you from being traded as you move up. |

A patch is due out TODAY (3/18) for the Show. Go to Operation Sports for all the details.

Who do we need to contact about them getting voice chat enabled for online play? Not having it is utter bullshit.

Pujols is one of them. It's annoying to see trades like that go through. Your idea would be fantastic. A simple grade or number to show how likely the player is to get traded. Ideally that number would fluctuate if the player is in the last year of his contract or if the team is doing really shitty and needs to rebuild. In my franchise the Red Sox traded Beckett and Ortiz for prospects. Maybe that has a chance of happening if the Sox are far out of contention in July but this trade happened in May when the Sox were in first place. IMO, this is the final piece of the puzzle for me. Aside from game glitches that need to be fixed, a realistic trade/free agent/line up manager would make the game perfect. |
Re: MLB '10: The Show (PS3, PS2, PSP) - March 2nd
Maybe they could call it "prestige" in a nod to Baseball Stars on the NES.
I was thinking about it some more, and how it would fluctuate in future seasons within the game. It seems that the number would go down as the player gets past his prime, to simulate once-important veterans being unloaded for rebuilding purposes (Maddux, Smoltz), but the club would be taken into account. So, if someone gets traded, the number goes down using a factor of age and his new club. If he goes to a team like the Yankees or Red Sox, he's unlikely to be traded again than he is if he goes to a club with fewer resources. They should also change the club tendencies, as it seems like the Yankees will rarely trade a quality veteran, but they will let him leave if they get someone better. |

About the voice chat:
I just read elsewhere that you have to hit down on the direction pad to activate the mic. Can anyone confirm this? Is anyone with a mic willing to play an online game so we can try this out? Thanks! |
