That's a steal, IMHO. Good price on a good game!

Excellent!

Looking forward to playing it through.

Memo to anyone who got flOw yesterday: remember, it has the expansion already included. Do not make the same stupid mistake I did and buy the expansion afterwards.

Re: The Official PS3 thread - resolutions are meant to be broken
How do you know it includes it?

I also just discovered... flOw has disappeared from my download lists. So make sure you never delete it because there's no way to get it back!

Well, after I bought it and it finished downloading, it said there was no need to install it because it was already an updated version. Although, I didn't see anything to confirm the expansion. I didn't know what to look for.

Now, however, I think it just won't install over the free version, so you would have to buy the game to be able to use the expansion (and in my case that's like $11 in all since I already paid for the expansion separately).

I'm confused - does the free version of flOw have the "camera fish"? I haven't figured out how to take screenshots but when I heard that there was an expansion pack for the camera fish, I just shrugged and gave up.

Also picked up Flower for $5 today. Good one.

It looks like you have to buy the bundle for $8.99 if you want it.

Eh nevermind. There's no platinum trophy for it anyway

And I can't wait for Heavy Rain.

Hence the thread we started on that game below.

Quote: Don't know if this has been mentioned, but 7-11 is running a Slurpee promo that nets your PSN item codes. They are God of War 3 related mainly. Kratos Dynamic Theme, God of War 3 theme, some Home downloadabe shirts and others.

Also, to get started, you can use the code BSBV MJTB DNQN for 2 points. This is a multi-use code that can be used on multiple accounts if you so desire.
Just got the Dynamic GoWIII theme. They have a hell of a lot of nerve calling it a dynamic theme. It's barely dynamic, just fire flickering in Krato's eyes in an extreme close up. For free it's not bad, but overall very disappointing. The very odd free Trash Panic Dynamic theme is worlds better. Might save up 10 points for that exclusive skin (which can only be used after beating the game once), but I'm not sure yet. Free is free, but that theme should have been better than that.

Okay, I found out the problem. If you got the free flOw but have NOT patched the game, you can download and install the expansion. If you have already patched it, it won't work.

Apparently, this affects the paid version as well, but in that case you can always delete the game and redo it in the right order (game, expansion, patch). Since the free version doesn't show up in the download list, the only way you can get it all with an already patched free version is to buy the bundle, or in my case, buy the damn game separately.

BTW, I wish they'd improve this patching process, at least for PSN games. I understand they can't do this with retail games, but why can't PSN games be pre-updated to the latest version? It was kind of annoying that I sat down to play Braid for the first time and I had to download a 240MB patch for it, even though I had just bought the game about a week ago. Why couldn't the game have already been patched? Or, if that's too difficult to implement, why couldn't their system have detected the presence of a patch when I bought it, and put it in the queue to be downloaded right after the game? (Yeah, that would break flOw, but they could fix that.)

So, I can delete my paid version, redownload the game and then what? How do I get the expansion without paying for it? Does it suddenly show as free in the PSN store? I don't understand.

No, you can't get the expansion without paying for it. I was talking about buying the expansion and adding it to the free version from a couple of days ago. You can only do that if you haven't patched the game, since the patch screws up adding the expansion for some reason.

If you've paid for the game and want the expansion, you'll need to delete it first. Then re-download the game, add the expansion ($2.99), then patch the game. (You know how any game asks you to patch when you start the game and are connected to PSN.)

Apparently, firmware update 3.20 is coming soon, and this update will enable 3D support (for games, presumably).

Will this be an actual *stable* firmware update? I sure hope so. I've waited so many months to update my firmware due to the reports of people having the consoles f***** after the last couple of firmware updates.

I think it's "free" if you buy Trash Panic right now in the US Store.

I've always updated both of mine every time w/o problems.

I've also updated every time I've been prompted without any issues.

I think firmware updates rarely, if ever, cause the common problems people are seeing with their units (YLOD and failing Blu-ray drives). It's just shoddy hardware and since firmware updates happen fairly regularly, people assume the failure is tied to their "recent" firmware update.

It's probably been asked AND answered before but i was wondering how does the Guitar Hero/Rock Band DLC work if the PS3 dies? Are the songs i bought attached to my PSN or the physical PS3 drive? or Both?

I assume if your ps3 dies and you buy a new one you don't have to re-purchase your songs. Hopefully not!

Thanks

They're tied to your PSN account, so if the PS3 dies you just need to re-d/l all of them.

Yeah i thought that too but what if you log onto your PSN on a friends PS3 could he get all those songs for free?

He could if you share your account with him. Remember though you can only tie your PSN account to five consoles so keep that in mind if you ever want to upgrade or add a second console.
