Re: The Official PS3 thread - Aaaaannnnnnddddd we're back!

We just got Netflix streaming this weekend and while the computer can play any video just fine, the PS3 hooked up to our TV (and receiving internet via an ethernet cable) will only play TV shows while movies lock up and have to keep loading after five seconds of play. In fact, it tries to load again after that point and says it can't connect with Netflix.

Anybody experience this and/or have suggestions? If the PS3 hooked up to ethernet can't handle a movie but it can handle online gaming like BFBC2 then we might not do Netflix after the free 30 days.

I don't have problems streaming movies/tv shows, etc, unless either A) Netflix is having an issue, or, B) my router needs to be reset. For the most part, PS3 streaming of Netflix is fine.

Re: The Official PS3 thread - Aaaaannnnnnddddd we're back!

So I check my email and I got a Beta Invite to play the demo for Assassins Creed Revelations. Its for the multiplayer and I have no desire for MP. I was thinking "cool, ill get it a shot" but thats if I have time and if I do itll be for an hour on some random night. So I thought, I can sell this on ebay right? Im pretty sure I always read posts here with you guys selling stuff but is that codes like this or only exclusive DLC?

Re: The Official PS3 thread - Aaaaannnnnnddddd we're back!

I just noticed that a game that I don't own and have never played has appeared in my trophy collection (Clash of the Titans). There aren't any trophies that have been won, but considering that game has never been in my system, I find this very curious.

The only other PS3 I have ever logged into with my PSN account is my brothers, but the last time I did that was before the big PSN outage, so my password has for sure been changed since that time.

Any idea how this could happen?

EDIT: Nevermind... I asked my wife about it this morning, and it turns out that my brother-in-law was over earlier this week, and he brought it over and was playing it.

Is it terribly anal that I wish there was some way to erase that shit from my profile?

Playstation Plus members get Plants Vs Zombies PSN game and the first three Resident Evil PSOne Classics for free tomorrow. Nice deal -- too bad I already have PvZ on XBLA.

The Resident Evil games will be free starting on 9/20. It definitely would've made more sense to do it tomorrow, so people would have time to play some of them before RE4 hits PSN.

The new BloodRayne game on PSN looks pretty great - total Castlevania rip-off!

Anybody pick up the new Playstation surround sound headset yet? I'm probably going to pick it up soon. I'm really kicking myself for not preordering it when Amazon had it for $65.

Same here. I don't need it but I can't believe I missed that deal.

So yeah, whenever it's near that price again I'd probably get it.

Mine is on its way. I should be getting it tomorrow. Look forward to trying it out after that. Didn't really need it since I have my own media room now, but figured it would be worth it at that insane Amazon pricing.

Re: The Official PS3 thread - Aaaaannnnnnddddd we're back!

So I got it today. It's pretty spiffy. Dead easy to set up. Literally took seconds. Plug in the USB adaptor, turn it on, and you're set. When you turn on the headset, it immediately kills sound from your system and pumps it to the headset -- nice. The virtual surround seems pretty good to me -- I was playing a heavy firefight in the Killzone campaign and could hear my fellow soldiers beside me and behind me announce when they were reloading and stuff like I never had before. I'm not an audiophile, but these work pretty damn well. Haven't tried them for online chat yet, but I suppose it should work well at that too. Build seems pretty good overall, but the mic does feel flimsy; nothing terrible, but use caution.

And I'm probably the only one here geeky enough to care about this, but just so you know, you can't use these headset with 3D glasses since the headset covers both ears entirely. That might be a problem for regular glasses wearers as well, I don't know.

Anyway, an absurdly good deal at $65 and easily worth the $100 if you need some. Much easier to use and set up than the 360 Turtle Beach ones I have.

Re: The Official PS3 thread - Aaaaannnnnnddddd we're back!

how does it feel on your ears? Is it too tight or does the material make your head hot/sweat?

I have a Turtle beach which I like and is really comfortable, but it'd be nice to not have to deal with wires and the multi-audio out nonsense.

It's quite comfortable and surprisingly light considering how big it is. I have a pretty big head ( size 7 1/2) and it wasn't too snug at all once I adjusted it. Can't comment on head sweat since I only tried it for 20- 30 minutes last night

Re: The Official PS3 thread - Aaaaannnnnnddddd we're back!

Anyone ordered the 160gb PS3 on amazon lately? Just checking to see if you got the new 3001 model. I thought those began shipping last month, so I figured that's all Amazon has now in stock.

Re: The Official PS3 thread - Aaaaannnnnnddddd we're back!

So, I got a PS3 from a crazy Amazon warehouse deal recently and I have to say that game sharing is the single most amazing discovery of my game buying life. I am seriously considering getting rid of all my 360 Rock Band gear and moving over to PS3 due to how insanely cheap game sharing makes dlc.
