You can do it from the memory section if you want, you just have to make sure you go into the folder for the game and not just delete the whole folder.

Hey, whatever floats your boat. I delete from the game's library window and I've never had an issue with losing saves or DL'd content, that includes Wolverine. |

I did that exact thing for wolverine and it ended up erasing everything. I always did that for every game without a problem. From now on I'm gonna go to the memory section and delete it separately. Maybe Wolverine is the one exception but i'm gonna play it safe.

Sadly, I'll be out of warranty come this fall. So the next time it goes up, it's on me. By then the Arcade units should be $150. That or the next consoles will be getting ready to roll out.

I own three xbox's...one in my room...and two for my kids...and for some reason, even though I have no reason to buy one, I have been wanting one of these collector edition xboxs....if a slim does come out, I might have to pick one up...I have been wanting to take an xbox down to my parents house anyway for those weekends the kids and I stay down there....

My 2nd 360, which is almost 2 years old, has started freezing indiscriminately - I sense a RROD coming on.
In the process of doing that, I found out from the guy at Gamestop I bought it from that when they sell refurbs all it needs to do is turn on and it's good to go for them to sell it again. Guess what I'll be doing with my not yet RROD former 360 now. |

And what kind of warranty does the poor sucker who buys that thing get from Gamestop? |

Has there been any rumors about the spring update yet?

Beyond the USB storage?

Yes, just any rumors.

I noticed last night that my Microsoft Points balance was credited for 160 points. Not sure what it was that I did. I could have sworn it was only 900 on Sunday evening.
I did download the new GameRoom app. last week and then added 1600 points on Friday night. I've since put 3 game cabinets in my arcade (3 @ 240 pts./ ea.) Before I added the points, I only had 60 but I used 40 for a mascot. |

I thought I read somewhere that they were having issues with the MS Points.

According to Xbox Support, it's nothing that sinister: http://blogs.msdn.com/xblops/archive...d-billing.aspx
Unfortunately, we’re still working through some billing issues. These are primarily around the redeeming of POSA cards – POSA stands for “Point of Sale Activation”. These are the cards that you buy at a retail store that they then activate for you at the checkout register. Some cards that were properly activated at the retailer are reporting back to us as not having been activated yet. You haven’t done anything wrong, you won’t lose your money, and you don’t need to go back to the store – just hang in there and try again in a few hours. The Stimulus Package has been so popular that our POSA vendors that make those magic point cards work are a little backed up. Other billing features are seeing intermittent problems as well, but at a far lower rate than POSA redemption. You’re most likely to notice this when trying to redeem a code through Xbox.com, but you may see it on the console as well. The team has been working all of these issues on your behalf nonstop, and will continue to do so until the last of them are resolved. |

Of course, that could just be them covering their asses and not telling the whole truth. Like how amazon never admitted that they were the main leak for stolen xbox codes when they first got the generation system...now even if your credit card is on file, you have to enter it again to get a code... |

I just bought some points on LIVE to "rent" movies the other night. Everything seemed fine but I'm going to keep an eye on things.

And what kind of warranty does the poor sucker who buys that thing get from Gamestop? Probably the only warranty you can get is from Gamestop itself, I can't imagine someone getting one from MS. I still haven't brought it back, still debating using it as part of a bonfire. |

What's wrong with MS's warranty?

Have you even tried calling ms about it? From what I hear its really hard to get them to reject a box or charge for repair.

Not really that invested in wanting to do so as I've already replaced the unit. The warranty is up on it and sending it away to get fixed for $150 (or whatever the MS fee is) doesn't sound like a good idea.

Wtf I decided to open up my copy of GoW2 and it does not play. It loaded once and now it just gives disc read errors. All my other games are still loading. Damn that's what I get for trading in my original copy of GoW2.... Xbox support is no help. They want me to use the disc replacement program and spend $20 to get a replacement. Apparently a lot of people have had this issue.

That is what people are saying. If you call and bitch about the system there is a pretty decent choice they will just repair it for free. MSoft knows they screwed this thing up and are being pretty cool about making things right in an effort to forestall class action lawsuits.
Hey, as long as they keep fixing them for free..... |
re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
Whenever someone bitches about having to call MS for a free repair on their xbox and says they arent going to bother, I realize they are probably one of the suckers that paid someone off craigslist $50 to crack open and 'repair' their xbox (thereby ruining the motherboard and guaranteeing MS wont touch it). Or they got their box banned. I have yet to see a serious case of xbox charging someone to fix one.

PSA: Xbox 360 USB storage update now available
The Xbox 360 system update enabling USB storage is live and ready to help you explore the joyous world of non-proprietary storage options. Rules are the same as previously noted: USB devices need to be over 1GB, but can only use 16GB of available storage. Users can use two sticks at once for 32GB, but can switch out units any time, limiting their storage potential by how many USB devices they've got lying around. The update takes approximately five minutes with a standard cable connection. For those who don't believe in internets, the update will also be available on the branded 16 GB Xbox 360 USB sticks set to debut in May. |
