It's a family show about some relatively smart self-made millionaires that decided to stick with their roots after college. It's surprisingly a pretty positive show, mildly entertaining, surprised it's as popular as it is (I know a lot of people that love that shit). Phil Robertson, the dad (older one), has a masters in education and was starting QB for Louisiana Tech in the 60s, ahead of second string Terry Bradshaw.

I think my issue is a dying hard drive. I moved my profile to the internal memory and my problem went away. I'm glad to have it working, but ugh that the drive is dying. In addition to the profile issue, I also lost my Fez save. It is probably only a matter of time before it goes out completely.

Gold Family Pack leaves the Xbox Live nest
The Gold Family Pack has divorced from Xbox Live. Following a couple of tips indicating the pack had disappeared earlier this month, we reached out to Microsoft who confirmed the offer was removed from its service.
"The Family Gold offer is no longer available for purchase," a Microsoft representative told us. "The Family Center experience with settings management, allowance granting, child activity reports and family subscriptions management are still available for current Family Gold members at this time."
As for why the pack was discontinued, the rep said, "We continually evaluate our business focus and work to offer services that make the most sense for our customers and Xbox."
Microsoft introduced the Family Pack to Xbox Live back in November 2010, offering up a discounted $99.99 bundle of four year-long Gold memberships, along with Family Center functionality allowing users to manage family members' content and purchasing access.

I imagine most people are on auto-renew and therefor are paying full price.

My subscription has always been full price. Typically family gives me cards for gifts here and there... and for some reason they never buy me MS Points. They always buy the Live cards each year.

I guess I give more credit to the people that go online as to being aware of deals. Yet I've played with enough randos out there to know that I'm only fooling myself.

Hmmm...I just signed up for the family plan last month (to keep my three kids off my account
), I currently have 18mos left, wonder if I can still drop a member, add a 12-month card to his account, and then add him back to the family (actually add three 12-month cards to push the family up to 3 years, since the cards have been plentiful at $35 each lately)
Speaking of...since the 12-month cards have been on sale everywhere recently from $35-$40 (including MS store), perhaps MS will suprise everyone and reduce the price of Live?

http://support.xbox.com/en-US/billin...family-members
The final screen explains how existing Gold membership time is added to the Gold Family Pack. The Gold Family Pack receives one month of additional membership time for every two months of remaining Xbox LIVE Gold time. For example, if the secondary account has six months remaining on their Xbox LIVE Gold Membership, three months are added to the Gold Family Pack membership.
I think Microsoft killed the plan largely because it probably wasn't that popular, so it wasn't worth continuing to promote and maintain it. Also, I think it was exploited by hackers, who would hack someone's account, buy a lot of MSP, buy a family plan, add an unrelated account that the hacker created to the plan, transfer the points over, then detach the account from the family plan.

So Live is asking me for a phone # for some security bullshit and I can't sign in without providing it. What the hell is this crap and has anyone run into this? Everything was fine, and I really don't want to give them my phone #.

With all the hacked accounts, I'd think you'd feel better knowing if someone logged in from another location. It's to help verify that it's you logging in from an unknown computer if they have your phone number.

Get a free google voice number that you forward to your cell. Give that to them.

I had a bunch of issues a few weeks back... then it went away. Nothing odd happened after that though -- with any personal info or my Live account.

Why is this crap? They are trying to protect you and inevitably save you from getting your account hacked. I don't see the issues.
