Got in. Used a link from here though: http://majornelson.com/2012/07/26/20...now-available/

Yeah, Major Nelson's link worked for me as well.

Supposedly it is limited to a certain total number of people. I'm not sure if they disqualify anyone based on the answers to the questions though.

In the past I haven't signed up for these, then in one of them they gave out a free game so I'm in just in case.

I signed up from my phone at lunch with no issues from the link MN tweeted.

I'm a sucker for things like this even if I hated the frequency of updates in the past and I rarely turn the thing on anymore. Ironically, all this will do is piss me off when I want to play Borderlands 2 or Assassin's Creed 3.

 Halo: Reach. I got in, but it was the one time I was too busy to try out anything in the beta. I think they wanted you to play a certain number of hours to test out the disc. I never even tried the Halo disc.

Yeah, that was the one year I said "meh, not doing it this time." :|

Oh, apparently they received a flood of applications and the beta sign-up is now closed. I got in before that, though.

First time missing it in years. I should be fine, I think.

Yeah, they're probably just making room for more ads.

I did one beta, and swore to never do it again. The constant updates were too slow and a pain in my anus.

I'm very thankful that I signed up for the beta. I really had no issues with the newest version of the dashboard when it was first released but since then navigating menus and selecting items has become a huge chore and it at times takes 1-2 minutes to load up games or NetFlix. The update this morning makes everything run just like it used to. I just hope it stays this smooth.

Anyone know how you download the update to a second console? The 25 digit code shows as already redeemed (which it was) and there's no Download History like there is on the PS3, so I don't know how to download the app onto my second console.

When did they remove download history? It used to be under your profile.

I grabbed the second, thanks.

Maybe I just couldn't find it. I'll check there tonight. Thanks.

I think you have to go to Social, then your Profile from there. I think it's obvious once you're in there, but it's been a while since I've looked.

I'd like to discuss this more, but since there's an NDA I'll just say that I was surprised the update is already live and fully functional. I was expecting at least a month before we saw any changes.

Wait, so it no longer takes 2-3 minutes of black screens to load Netflix?? Finally!
What about 2-3 minutes, or never, to load "storage" under system settings, or pretty much anything else for that matter?

I can't even run the beta app. :( Keep getting "cannot connect with Live servers" error.

I felt the same way and was stunned when I was prompted to update. I can deal with a few ads on the dash as long as the damn thing is functional.

I'm still having troubles running the beta(so I haven't seen it) but apparently I wasn't too far off the mark with the above comment.

No, it was surprisingly prescient. Actually, that was my first thought upon starting up the new dash last night.
