The Xfinity app worked for me. I have Xfinity internet but not TV, and I was able to log in with my in-laws' login. As others have said, the content seemed a little light.

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines

So it's finally been confirmed, the Xbox App is going to be a "dumb" OnDemand box. So the content is going to be more similar to what you have available in you cable box, than what you have in your PC or iPad app.

More info here: http://xbox.comcast.net/faqs.html

I think that'll still be helpful for some people, but not for me. So I really will miss not having access to the HBOGO app.

And yeah, I know this is a "strategic" decision on Comcast side.

I thought people were quoting them saying it was going to offer the same content? I would be LIVID.

I ran out of lividness for Comcast years ago. I'll just say that this is no surprise.

Hi all, I've received an update that Comcast and HBO are in discussions to increase HBOGO access for our customers. There's no ETA on this, but we'll post as we know more. Please follow this thread for updates.

Thanks for your patience.

The app doesn't even have half the content as my OnDemand box. No FX for starters, no FearNet, no dedicated selection of free HD movies.

I'm not sure how many users will really use this, because you need Xbox Gold, HBO Sub, Xfinity HS and Xfinity TV. On the other hand if you are paying for all of that, I can see how you are outraged that you don't have access to HBOGo.

Comcast has been flooded all over the internet. Really surprised by that.

The Xbox App was released just yesterday and they already changed their stance. Before it was that all you needed was the Xfinity App. Now they are in talks with HBO.

My provider just showed up as "beta" on the list of providers for HBOGo. That's a very positive sign, hopefully the testing doesn't take too long.

Have they really changed their stance, or are they just saying they are in talks to delay and hope everyone forgets about it. I'd love to see over 100,000 people cancel Comcast over this. That would send a real message.

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines

I was at the XBox Facebook page yesterday when this was announced. Some people were bitching about the HBO Go app (Roku and Cord-Cutter assholes mostly) saying why would you want to have it if you already have cable. Some were asking what is the point of this App since the cable-less people can't use it. I tried to explain it to a few of those knuckleheads and told them it stores the entire back catalogue of practically all of HBO's shows and alot of new movies, but the person who runs that page deleted both of my comments. I guess they were trying to avoid some arguments or something.

•Joan > Hello Justin, Thank you for contacting Comcast Live Chat Support. My name is Joan. Please give me one moment to review your information.
•Justin > My Issue: Why is comcast supporting HBO Go on the computer but not through XBOX? This seems rediculous.
•Joan > I will be more than happy to assist you. I'm glad you came to chat us your concerns. How are you doing today?
•Justin > Not too good. I've been pretty excited about HBO GO coming to xbox, and I I'm finding out that Comcast doesn't support it.
•Justin > All of your local competitors support HBO GO on XBOX
•Joan > I understand you concern, Justin.
•Joan > Actually we have the Xfinity TV on Xbox 360. However at the moment it's not yet launched to all markets.
•Joan > As part of our goal of continuing to provide our customer with superior products, Comcast will soon launch XFINITY TV on Xbox 360.
•Justin > The xfinity TV does not offer the same content as HBO GO
•Justin > Is the reason it isn't supported because comcast is launching the xfinity app?
•Justin > That's not an accepable reason since the same content is not offerred
•Joan > No, Justin.
•Justin > I'm paying extra to have access to HBO, so why would I be prevented from using their services?
•Joan > HBO GO is not actually not part of comcast cable and internet services.
•Joan > Customers are demanding more options to enjoy their video, particularly online as more and more folks get comfortable viewing this way.
•Joan > At Comcast we listen to our customers so we are continuing to innovate to ensure the best user experience. We have partnered with our Programming providers to create Online TV through Partner Sites - a new way for customers to enjoy video online.
•Justin > Right, and I'm able to access HBO GO through my computer (online), so why would I not be able to access it through another online channel (xbox)
•Joan > We are continually evaluating new platforms to support for our Online TV Partners like HBOGO, but at this time have no committed dates to support HBOGO on Ruko, Samsung TV or Xbox.
•Justin > Well i would like to make a formal complaint about this
•Joan > Justine, HBO GO is actually not part of our comcast paid services, we are just allowing customers to access HBO GO, for them to enjoy better experience.
•Justin > perfect, so allow us to access them on the xbox as well
•Joan > As of the moment We are still evaluating new platforms to support HBO GO but we don't have the exact date yet as to when will those other platforms be supported.
•Justin > Between this and ESPN3 not being available through comcast, I have to seriously consider Fios. I don't understand why your most direct competitor would have both of these services up and running while comcast 'evalulates' whether or not to use them.
•Joan > I understand your concern, Justin.
•Joan > I will just note that so we can suggest that to our head end.
•Joan > Do you have any other questions or concerns I can help you with today?
•Justin > That about does it. Thanks.

Typical Concast.

In my 29 years on this planet I've never dealt with a company with more ridiculously poor customer service/policies & procedures. I was thrilled when U-Verse came to town and I was able to switch away from their products.

I'm seeing conflicting things, are the HBOGo and Xfinity apps only for Gold, or can everyone use them? My 360 needs to be re-set up, and if it's Gold only, I don't wanna bother.

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines

It's Gold only. At least that's the case for HBO Go. I assume all these apps are like that.

That's what I figured. Lame. Hopefully PS3 gets its version soon. Or does Microsoft have a time-based exclusive like they did with Netflix?

This is what they did when ROKU users complained last year. But the XBox community is quite larger (I'm presumming), so we'll see. I'm not holding my breath, however.

We need to get PS3 on board too. That will be a very high number of unhappy customers between xbox and ps3 users!
