re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
The Xfinity app worked for me. I have Xfinity internet but not TV, and I was able to log in with my in-laws' login. As others have said, the content seemed a little light.

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
So it's finally been confirmed, the Xbox App is going to be a "dumb" OnDemand box. So the content is going to be more similar to what you have available in you cable box, than what you have in your PC or iPad app.
More info here: http://xbox.comcast.net/faqs.html I think that'll still be helpful for some people, but not for me. So I really will miss not having access to the HBOGO app. And yeah, I know this is a "strategic" decision on Comcast side. |
re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
I thought people were quoting them saying it was going to offer the same content? I would be LIVID.

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
I ran out of lividness for Comcast years ago. I'll just say that this is no surprise.

Re: Xfinity on X-Box and HBO Options 03-28-2012 08:56 AM Hi all, I've received an update that Comcast and HBO are in discussions to increase HBOGO access for our customers. There's no ETA on this, but we'll post as we know more. Please follow this thread for updates. http://forums.comcast.com/t5/Xfinity...d/td-p/1234509 Thanks for your patience. Eric |
re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
The app doesn't even have half the content as my OnDemand box. No FX for starters, no FearNet, no dedicated selection of free HD movies.

I'm not sure how many users will really use this, because you need Xbox Gold, HBO Sub, Xfinity HS and Xfinity TV. On the other hand if you are paying for all of that, I can see how you are outraged that you don't have access to HBOGo. Comcast has been flooded all over the internet. Really surprised by that. The Xbox App was released just yesterday and they already changed their stance. Before it was that all you needed was the Xfinity App. Now they are in talks with HBO. |
re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
My provider just showed up as "beta" on the list of providers for HBOGo. That's a very positive sign, hopefully the testing doesn't take too long.

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
Have they really changed their stance, or are they just saying they are in talks to delay and hope everyone forgets about it. I'd love to see over 100,000 people cancel Comcast over this. That would send a real message.

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
I was at the XBox Facebook page yesterday when this was announced. Some people were bitching about the HBO Go app (Roku and Cord-Cutter assholes mostly) saying why would you want to have it if you already have cable. Some were asking what is the point of this App since the cable-less people can't use it. I tried to explain it to a few of those knuckleheads and told them it stores the entire back catalogue of practically all of HBO's shows and alot of new movies, but the person who runs that page deleted both of my comments. I guess they were trying to avoid some arguments or something.

Typical Concast.
In my 29 years on this planet I've never dealt with a company with more ridiculously poor customer service/policies & procedures. I was thrilled when U-Verse came to town and I was able to switch away from their products. |

Oh. I didn't realize she said "Us <s>rich folk</s> care." My bad, guv'na.

 Comcast server is down, so I can't even use the app.

Anonymous attack perhaps?

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
I'm seeing conflicting things, are the HBOGo and Xfinity apps only for Gold, or can everyone use them? My 360 needs to be re-set up, and if it's Gold only, I don't wanna bother.
|
re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
It's Gold only. At least that's the case for HBO Go. I assume all these apps are like that.

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
That's what I figured. Lame. Hopefully PS3 gets its version soon. Or does Microsoft have a time-based exclusive like they did with Netflix?

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
We need to get PS3 on board too. That will be a very high number of unhappy customers between xbox and ps3 users!

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
