Not the right thread, I know, but I watched my kid play Red Faction for a bit, and it looked pretty awesome.

I found Red Faction frustrating and a pain in the Ass. Multiplayer was fun when matched with fun folks though. I may buy it back for 10 bucks one day and try to finish it.

Anyway, I just started Darksiders ans and so far I'm diggin' it. I like the storyline and general style of the game.

Ok, if Tiamat the big bat bitch early on in the game is any indication of how this game is in terms of boss battles, I might as well trade it in now. I am totally stuck on this boss

I'm told that Tiamat is the only legitimately hard boss. One of the biggest complaints about the game was the odd difficulty curve.

Tiamat almost made me want to give up on the game. The boss battles after her are far, far easier.

I think Tiamat was the one in the demo, and it almost caused me to not buy the game.

I remember being more frustrated by the sub-bosses leading up to Tiamat than I was by the actual boss.

Fuck this game. Tiamat is ridiculous. If I don't get past this bitch in the next few days I'm gonna throw this game in the trash.

And oh Darksider makers? You ****s couldn't put a fuckin' Life Bar on your bosses so we could see whether or not we're making any progress? Fuck you!

Sorry if it's been asked already, but what difficulty are you playing on? I started out on Apocalyptic the first time I played, but it didn't take long to figure out I needed to start over (can't remember if I did Normal or Easy to be honest). I beat Tiamat after a couple of tries on the lower difficulty.

Then, after playing through once and obtaining the Apocalyptic armor, I played through again on Apocalyptic difficulty and I don't think I died once during the entire game.

It's a fantastic game, and I'd hate to see someone lose out on the experience because of getting hung up on an early part for whatever reason.

My son's birthday was this past weekend, so I finally got to get this out of the closet. I watched him play off-and-on for a couple of hours with a neighborhood kid, and other than hearing "that's just like God of War!" about 400 times ( -rolleyes- ), it looked even better than I expected it to, and I can't wait to play it myself. :up:

I beat Tiamat in the demo on normal difficulty, and she was aggrevating to be sure, but the guys leading up to her had me cursing up a storm. :mad:

I don't recall any of the bosses taking more than one or two tries on the default difficulty level. The only really hard parts for me were some of the larger demons, prior to being able to activate War's rage form. There's a spot where you're jumping across sections of a broken down highway bridge and have to fight a large demon. That sucker probably kicked my ass 30 times before I was able to take him out.

I know, I suck and I don't mean to whine. But I'm just not having any luck with Tiamat. It's like I get to where it seems I'm making progress and she does something to take my health way down and it's downhill from there....

At this point, I would check the Gamefaqs.com forums, or see if a video on youtube will help.

Or, call a neighbor kid over to beat Tiamat for you.

Didn't mean for it to come off like that. I looked up a video to remind me of that battle and I think it's just getting the timing of when to dash down and being quick with the boomerang thing. Here's the video I looked at. It does a pretty good job at showing how to take her down.

:lol: Smartass. Actually I did look up the fight on Youtube. In fact, it was the same video maxfisher posted. I was amazed at how long the guy lasted with almost no health towards the end.
