Good decision. Not every game needs multiplayer.

No, this game doesn't need multiplayer. I can't imagine a mode with 16 different Batmans walking around trying to take each other out. It just sounds silly.

It could be Batman recruiting disposable Robins. Like the Templar training program in AC:B, but without the unnecessary Animus...es...ii? Animii.

I'm not sure why people think no multiplayer is a good thing. I didn't really care either way, but more game is never a bad thing.

The gut reaction is shoe-horning unnecessary multiplayer in a title will diminish the time spent on the single-player side of development.

I didn't mind the additions of multiplayer to Uncharted or Ass Creed and I don't think anyone can say their single player was lacking.

Re: Batman: Arkham Asylum Sequel

Again, it's gut reaction. You asked why and I explained. There are often exceptions to the rule. But normally added multiplayer in something like AC or Dead Rising or Dead Space is a big WTF? YMMV.

For me, as long as it doesn't get in the way or somehow ends up enjoyable, fine. Will I miss it if it's not there? Absolutely not. There are plenty of games that make sense and work with multiplayer already.

Re: Batman: Arkham Asylum Sequel

It depends on the title. If budget and resources are being split between single player and multiplayer, then the single player can suffer. But for top tier games like Uncharted 2 and AC:B, the multiplayer budget is typically above and beyond what's allocated for the core game (and self-sustaining if DLC sales are good).

I suspect the same would be true for Arkham City, but if people aren't clamoring for multiplayer, why add it? If you want to play alongside multiple Batman clones, there's always DC Universe Online.

16 different Batmen? Sounds like Grant Morrison's plan for Batman, Inc.

That one armed guy looks huge!

Speaking of guys with missing limbs, any word as to wether K.G.Beast might be in this one? That guy was always meant to be huge and agile. Would make for a fun rooftop chase/battle.

Re: Batman: Arkham Asylum Sequel

Based on the video, it seems that you can control the speed when you're gliding, newer fighting combos and revised detective mode.

No doubt, this is a first day purchase for me. Hoping to see what kind of exclusives or purchase deals we get closer to the release day. I remember that the original game, was released with a $40 introductory price during the first week of release only. I'm hoping that they do that again for the sequel.

Bring it on!!! October 18th can't come soon enough...
